you catch it, put it in the fridge' (that makes it cant move but still alive), then you tie it to a string

technically... They die when they're frozen, (cuz there is no brain activity, and their heart stops completely) but they come back to life when they're reheated

You catch the fly with your hands, stick it in a freezer for 40 seconds and when its unconscious you tie a string around it. Now when it's ready you put it somewhere and breath on it so the fly will warm up and slowly become conscious... congrats you have a fly on a string
