no, it never work on windows vista... and there is no way cmd has to do something with the star wars movie, really is the telnet client included i'm not sure in all windows but not vista....

It works with vista. You go to control panel and click programs and features and on the left it says turn windows features on or off...click that than you scroll down and check telnet client...that will take 5 or so mins than you restart and there you go.

Even if you dont have acess to it directly, here is a simple way to get around that.

1. Open Notepad

2. Type "Command"

3. Go to File, Save as

4. Change it from "txt" to "All Files"

5. Save it as "Command.bat"

6. Save it to the Desktop

ok right for all those windows vista people who want to open up telnet (its not safe thats why its turned off) then follow this.

Start > control panel > programs > turn windows features on or off (near the top) > then tick the boxes near all things labeled telnet and click "ok"

follow that and you should have telnet turned back on.

then open up command prompt and do what the video says.

Telnet isn't instaled(well not turned on) by default by vista, you have to turn it on first for it to work.

1. Click Start then select Control Panel.

2. Select Programs and Features.

3. Select Turn Windows features on or off.

4. Select the Telnet Client option.

5. Click OK.

6. A dialog box will appear to confirm installation. The telnet command should now be available.
