Is it safe to assume that she had a lover and he also passed by reading your comment and by watching her perform? Don't know much of her private life, and my chinese is terrible, but from the way she is singing this song with such emotion, it seems someone really broke her heart. (Can anyone fill me in if my guess is correct?)

This song is usually the last one in TT's concerts. For some reasons, it tends to bring all her emotion out. For example, in her 1982 Hong Kong concert (which can be found by searching youtubr for "再 見 我 的 愛 人 Goodbye My Love (Live, 現場演唱 1982)" , Her sobbing was so uncontrollable that she had to skip a few parts of the song and she couldn't finish the song. Even after the music ended, one could still hear her sob.

From reading other comments on TT youtube videos ... her crying must be in reaction to the fact her lover/fiance had just died in an airplane crash in Thailand upon take-off.

But I'm just going on a comment from someone else ... which is how I ended up here!

@148jules A little late for me to add my 2 cents to your comment. What you refer was a matter that happened almost 4 years prior in June, 1972, a little unlikely for Teresa to cry after this much time had passed. Just my opinion, of course.
