Im a police officer and I shot one with laser going 146 just as he came over a crest on the interstate. For a second I thought my laser malfunctioned and gave a false reading. That was before he saw me and I wasn't able to shoot him again to get a second reading, but when he went by I could hear him still accelerating. Im not sure how fast he was going when he went by, but it was faster than 146. I just smiled and waved as he went by there was no way I was going to run him down.

I was speeding on my way home on the freeway one night going about ~150 in my RSX and a highway patrolman off to the side turned on his lights... I just decided to floor hit harder and get off on the next exit to lose him. Never got caught :)
