Hey thanks for the comment.

When I say "set it up right" im refering to adjusting the action, intonation, and other perametors that you can tweek to your liking. Im not too familiar with teles, but i think there are some good expert village videos on how to set them up.

yeah i have one too and but mine is sunburst with the maple neck. i have a 30 watt marshall amp. i almost have the sound too but it feels like something is missing.i changed out my pickups and put a set of 57'/62'. that made a big difference.

ok... but all i can do is keep playing it like this unless someone tells me what im actually doing wrong rather than just telling me i am.

it's hard to explain... the first set of four transition notes (between the first and second chords) are wrong. just listen to the song a few times and listen to your vid a few times you'll see what i'm talking about. also you're playing the notes after the slide too staccato, let them ring for the full duration of 16th notes. just look at a tab, it's a real easy fix, and most tabs have the intro down tight.

PS: to fix the problem with the staccato notes, try hammering onto the 4th fret instead of sliding, i think john plays it that way anyway, but i could be mistaken...

the intro isn't wrong I just played it the way it is on the cd and you play it the way john plays it live... neither one is wrong they're just different.

Nice playing and cover. My only advice though would be to, regarding the intro, to finger the D chord with all four fingers at once instead of playing them note by note. It still sounds very good, but it gets more staccato instead of having the notes ringing in to eachothers. Look at John play it and you'll see what I'm talking about. It's not an easy intro, I think, hehe. Upload some more chilis, would be great to see. :-)
