Ha I've known some really sweet psych. aides and some really douchey ones. One in the hospital I was at a year or so ago would yell at me or call me a dumb ass in my bedroom after I took a shower because I took too long. The one I loved the most was the one who would sit with me and talk as we played uno. It was nice because I had no one to talk to because all the other adolescents at the time just slept when there were no activities so I sat alone in the annex reading or watching TV.
To the people saying that all mental health techs are cruel, I disagree. I've had close friends and family members in mental health facilities and all the aides have been very kind and sweet. If your experience has been so negative, I'm terribly sorry. That is so sad.
Please go to Yahoo and type in the phrase "Horrible Truth About Psychiatric Drugs" into their search to find a report that reveals the truth about theee drugs that no psychiatrist will tell you. Also do the search with the phrase "Documented Proof Psychiatric Drugs Shorten Lifespan". Be sure to include the quotes to narrow the search so you find the intended research paper on these drugs/ The drugs promote suicide and violence not prevent, cause impotence, no libido and make you fat disphoric.
I have yet to see a psychiatric aid with their arms around a "patient." I've seen them brutalize patients. I've seen them emotionally abuse patients. But treating a patient with kindness, physical contact and compassion? In what fantasy world does that happen?
Of course there will be an "increase in demand for psychiatric aides".. that's exactly what they want. There will also be an increase in over-medications and prescribing potentially lethal drugs children as young as possible on a national level.
