I once asked a group of silent hill fans why the obsession with pyramid, and the best response was..."because they want to be raped by him". Lol anyone have a response or an explanation?
@THENIGHTWATCHMAN08 I think it's just because he looks cool... at least that's what people normally say. It's annoying to see how the new games exploit PH just to get more "fans". For me, he should have only appeared in SH2. He's the manifestation of Jame's desire to punish himself, so there's no sense in him being in other stuff whatsoever.
@RosieSquall I'm still on the fence about it because I know a helluva lot of people who are obsessed with that character. And yeah PH was only meant to be in SH2 but due to fan obsession the producers decided that pyramid hear represented like you said punishment for anyone else who entered the town.
Sometimes when you have a dream, there will be a specific character in this dream that when describing your dream to someone you know, you don't leave this character out.
Dream psychologists, and anyone who is using google, will tell you that these characters represent something.
Pyramid Head represents the truth.
James knows he killed his wife, but he is constantly running from it, which is why you don't kill Pyramid Head.
Resident Evil 4 was a major 'evolution' of the Resident Evil franchise compared to RE1, RE2, RE3 and RE:CV
The problem with Silent Hill is that Homecoming was definitely a steer in the wrong direction. It killed the game. And the next SH, SH6, is going down the same route and it going to suck.
@sabdow SH6? what are you talking bout? lol...theres SH0 origins,SH1,SH2 restless dreams,SH3 & SH4 the room,homecoming,shattered memories and the upcoming downpour,but if you are talking bout the order theyve been released up to this point,you are still wrong,after SH4 the room,the fifth SH released was origins,the 6th one was homecoming the 7th one was shattered memories & the new one is the 8th one according to the order the games were released,even after that,the series goes only from 1 to 4.

It's amazing how much thought they put into every minute detail. It's something I can really respect. The developers' thought-process, now, is probably something like this: "Well... We need the radio..... and... a flashlight... another world, oh, oh, and a cult!

@duongngocvuminh the holes are suppose to reflect James delveing deeper into his own subconcious. And also his fear of the unknown, unknowing of what truths he may find if he continues his search(relfected by him not being able to see the bottom or just how far the hold geos). If you notic he doesn't start seeing holes until he begins to question his sanity and the situation "Mary....are you really here...or is this all just.....", and when the town itself asks if he really desires to continue..
I first experienced part one of SH as a child. I was afraid cus all the older kids where playing it and I never understood how they were doing it without being scared. They all took turns and laughed if they'd die, but I was silent and scared. As I got to my teen years I began to take interest and its funny how it happened. I've known people who think Silent Hill is incredibly scary, gross, and other stuff like that. I replied "Well, that's because you focus on the scary and gross parts. You don't focus on anything else." I focus on the nurse's movements and Pyramid Head. Mostly Pyramid Head. :D
I like all the games in their own light. Origins and Silent Hill 4 were somewhat lacking what with Henry's boring lines and storyline and Travis was easily unlikable. The storyline really is the framework of the series.
I disagree. Homecoming had great emotion flowing from it, Silent Hill 4 had an interesting plot, and 0rigins had blatant character-to-monster relations. Not to say they were on par with the first three, but still great in their own light. However, Homecoming's gameplay was awful, Henry was emotionless and the ghosts were annoying, and Travis has got to be THE MOST unlikable protagonist of the series. Still, I won't put these games down like that, as I still enjoyed them for what they were worth.
Silent Hill 1-3 Were the best.. Silent Hill 4, origins and Homecoming were BAAAAAD and really stupid and did not follow anything Silent Hill had made itself to be.
Shattered Memories kinda got it, but not quite. SM is wayy better than 4
I hope the new movie Silent HIll 2 focus's on Sean Bean bein ghte main looking for rose and sharon and now that the plot is out of the way they could make it really scary and freaky :) oh and dont forget all the amazing creepy music :D!

Dude you need to play those. Playing them is very different from watching them. I used to just watch them, but then i finally got both for my PS2 and man was it an experience!

Oh really? They will make it for download? Cool. The only thing about SH1 for me was the 3D moves. They don't have the option to switch to 2D like in SH2 and SH3. For me, the 3D controls are hard to use and can get frustrating especially when you are fighting a boss.
I'm in the US but I never really looked on PSN for stuff. I just got my PS3 on Christmas so... Still a noob. Plus I have the actual original game for my PS2.
I did see in PSN Siren:Blood Curse and played the demo. One of the original SH developers worked on that game. It is REALLY creepy. I may download it as it looks good. Right now i'm still working on SH Homecoming, Dead Space, FEAR2 and Condemned 2.
oh cool. I heard it's pretty good but that it won't be the same on PS2 or PSP. They made it main for the Wii. But we shall see how they make it for those systems. I hope it's good!

Yeah I have Origins. I like it! It's not my fav but I really like it. I'm enjoying Homecoming now. I don't know if Siren is for PSP. But damn.. the demo got me hooked a bit. It's really creepy. Check out the reviews for it here. Which SH games have you played so far?
i have played 3,4,origins seen the movie(which i found great except the ending) and read all the comics. i have seen the walkthroughs of the other games.i dont have a ps3 so i cant play homecoming :( but i saw walkthrough and loved it)
also origins was fun. it wasnt the best because it wasnt the original team that made it so thinking that some other people made it and not team silent and looked nice its an achievement
Haha! nice! Another Silent Hill head! Yeah i got one of the comics. I need to get the rest. I freaking LOVED SH4. That game was so damn creepy. I don't know why some people hated it. It's one of my favs. You will like SH2. I can't wait til you play it. Like i said before SH1 is Classic stuff, I just wish they gave an option to have 2D controls. Maybe the download version will be that way for you. If that is the case, I think I would download it too.

On SH2 there is two main endings... u have to choose if u think the girl is mary or maria.... on SH3 i dnt know cuz havent played it .... SH4 depends if that girl u have with u at the last boss survives And BTW if both the boss and the girl dies then henry dies later
yah...that's right.....they're basing the plot of the movie from the game....at i've heard that....AKIRA played the big role of the production set..and they paid a lot to KONAMI ENTERTAINMENT,........
Its such a shame the movie was so terrible.
Its even worse of a shame that we as gamers are constantly lied to by movie directors.

i have played all silent hill games except 1 and 2 (but i know everything about them every detail every aspect) but i havent played them .

Dude you need to play those. Playing them is very different from watching them. I used to just watch them, but then i finally got both for my PS2 and man was it an experience!

yeah i know tis a deffirent experience (+ thry are 2 of the 3 best silent hill games) i am waiting silent hill 1 to be released in europe playstation network so i can download it

Oh really? They will make it for download? Cool. The only thing about SH1 for me was the 3D moves. They don't have the option to switch to 2D like in SH2 and SH3. For me, the 3D controls are hard to use and can get frustrating especially when you are fighting a boss.

I'm in the US but I never really looked on PSN for stuff. I just got my PS3 on Christmas so... Still a noob. Plus I have the actual original game for my PS2.
I did see in PSN Siren:Blood Curse and played the demo. One of the original SH developers worked on that game. It is REALLY creepy. I may download it as it looks good. Right now i'm still working on SH Homecoming, Dead Space, FEAR2 and Condemned 2.

oh cool. I heard it's pretty good but that it won't be the same on PS2 or PSP. They made it main for the Wii. But we shall see how they make it for those systems. I hope it's good!

siren blood curse is in psp?cause i love horror games ;p i think shattered memories will be very diffirent in psp and ps2 cause in wii it has actual action but i dont care..its still silent hill hehe .have you played origins?spain?so cool i want to go there someday

Yeah I have Origins. I like it! It's not my fav but I really like it. I'm enjoying Homecoming now. I don't know if Siren is for PSP. But damn.. the demo got me hooked a bit. It's really creepy. Check out the reviews for it here. Which SH games have you played so far?

i have played 3,4,origins seen the movie(which i found great except the ending) and read all the comics. i have seen the walkthroughs of the other games.i dont have a ps3 so i cant play homecoming :( but i saw walkthrough and loved it)
also origins was fun. it wasnt the best because it wasnt the original team that made it so thinking that some other people made it and not team silent and looked nice its an achievement

Haha! nice! Another Silent Hill head! Yeah i got one of the comics. I need to get the rest. I freaking LOVED SH4. That game was so damn creepy. I don't know why some people hated it. It's one of my favs. You will like SH2. I can't wait til you play it. Like i said before SH1 is Classic stuff, I just wish they gave an option to have 2D controls. Maybe the download version will be that way for you. If that is the case, I think I would download it too.

On SH2 there is two main endings... u have to choose if u think the girl is mary or maria.... on SH3 i dnt know cuz havent played it .... SH4 depends if that girl u have with u at the last boss survives And BTW if both the boss and the girl dies then henry dies later

it's safe to say that the canon endings are arranged as such:
James: suicide (in water)
Heather: pulls a joke on doug (normal)
Henry: escape

There is actually no "canon" ending to SH2, each player just decides on their own which ending is the real one...

The endings which I find canon are:
SH(Good)
SH2(In water or leave)
SH3(Revenge lol I chose It because in SH4 there was no silent hill)
SH4(The one where Aileen and Henry survive)
