  • It's not the answer for those trying to get rid of the cause of the mold, or wet conditions etc. However bleach IS the answer if the source of the mold conditions were short lived and disappears, and works great in carpets as well. I know because I've done it. Mine was due to a dripping leak for a short period which was fixed. I fixed the leak, then disinfected everything with bleach, including the carpet. I also repainted the wall after disinfecting. That was 17 years ago. No problems.
