I'm not sure I would of chosen a mamba monster motor to drive the weapon. It looks like it is working ok, but I hope your gear box doesn't break. The controller software has come a long way since I used the MMM combo in my eggbeater, so it may work. Definitely post some videos of it in action.
interesting, what gear ratio do you have on that brushless? What sort of weight can you lift at the tip of the arm? also how do you cut the current to the motor when the mechanism reaches the end of the travel? I wouldnt mind trying something like this in my new 30lb bot.
What weight class is this ?

@razerdave its the bots iq 15 pound but the v2 zero gravity weighed in at 12.8 right at hobby weight
