In the end this is not Kuduru, this smells of kuduru but it's much more, it's kuduru made by portuguese people with a different perspective, if you listen to the old projects of the buraka member are based on hiphop, electro, drum n bass....buraka som sistema sound it's a modern/raw/hardcore/urban kuduru with techno and whatever more...it's unique
Surely indeed, this is KUDURU my friend! Simply evolution e PONTO FINAL.
Original from Portuguese is ONLY fado, wine and olive oil (Grape and Olives). Nothing Against FADO! I love Fado. The rest is IMPORTED even the Bacalhau (Salt Codfish). But, we've to be more realistic and not get twisted with 1st grade mistakes. I don't want to get in to arguments if Christopher Columbus was an Italian, Portuguese, Spanish or even from the Northern Africa region.
Dear friend - I'm in receipt of your last post. Music is art, cultural democracy and it cannot be colonized! Please be advised to educate yourself and try to trace Kuduro's roots before you express your mediocre thoughts. Mr. Obama is mixed and he's BLACK to me! This is just an analogy!
Kuduro is an electronic based music anyway. the original founders in angola were experimenting with eletronica music and angolan beats among other things. BSS are simply using there own style of kuduro and house/techno. House was created in Chicago and Techno Detroit by African Americans. WOOT WOOT. It's simply returning to the Source of everything:
I really get amazed with the amount of stupidity that some people like you develop across the years!!Just investigate better where Fado comes from, and after be a man and apologize for what you just wrote!Fado its the most genuine thing about Portugal!!African slaves from Brazil?!?!Man,im sorry, but you are really stupid or you were drunk or high when you wrote this?!?
Most music genres in Europe is imported...I cannot think of one recent relevent music genre in Europe in recent decade or even last century. Even Fado was somewhat imported from Brazil.
@fulani31 first of all, Fado is not imported from Brazil. It might have _african influences_ tops, but it's a Portuguese genre.
And what do you mean, no recent relevant music genres in Europe in the recent decade? Check out DUBSTEP, it's even a huge influence on BSS. And don't forget Drum'n'bass? That's european as well.
about fado I thought the same as you until I watched a portuguese documentary on it and they said fado was brought over by brazilian slaves who came with a king(can't remember his name), but regardless I do feel fado was perfected in Portugal. DnB, Dubstep etc are sub-genres kind of like Italo Pop lol.
@fulani31 DnB and Dubstep are not "subgenres" any more than Kuduro is. It's funny how you so blatantly put double standards to genres so it fits your "views".
And that documentary you watched was wrong: Fado was originally sung by seamen, and it's closely linked to the Portuguese concept of "saudade". It wasn't "brought to Portugal" by anyone, and only exists in Portugal.
I'm not hating on you, but you obviously try to downplay european musical relevance by saying things that are incorrect.
You mean me? I'm originally from Connecticut and we swear like muleskinners. Little known fact, but Connecticut was first settled by muleskinners, who swore a lot, hence the phrase. Connecticut almost went with, "The Muleskinner State" as the state nickname, but opted for "The Nutmeg State" since Ye Better Business Bureau thought it might hurt, "thee tourist traddes".
I love their sound. Wish I was there. And they stole the show at Coachella - wow! BTW, I watched the whole thing. Just took me awhile to get to a computer with sound :-(

@fulani31 Dubstep comes from garage and drum n bass originally had its roots in acid house, turned to jungle, THEN to dnb.
