Could steam bending be used? I'm interested in making my own guitars once I finish my shop :D, but won't have a fancy bender so would be interested in making my own steam bender.
anyone can buy a $4000 gibson les paul and play it to death until the day they die but youll never beat the feeling you get when you make something like a guitar yourself and get to play it in front of the people you love =]
generaly they sound the same, my friend has a yamaha apx 700 the same as mine and theres a SLIGHT difference but i think if you had 50 apxs youd get 2 that sounded totaly different. i do agree with your observation thought, to much snake oil and fairy dust, escpecialy with pedals!
@RichoRosai Sorry to break it to you but the more you practice something the more perceptive your brain becomes of that specific activity. This thing you call self-delusion the rest of us calls a SKILL.
if you're talking about classical guitars, that is ALWAYS the case. It's just that you don't play classical guitar, neither does anyone on this comments page.
i have a classical guitar with the sideways tuning pegs and a big wide neck but no, i dont play classical music =\ not that i wouldnt im just not interested in it
i figured something like that and they do sound different, theyre made out of different woods and shaped different and just made to play a different music in general
Audiophiles really are idiots, thinking you'll get a different sound out of a different cable.. when wire is generally of extremely uniform quality.
Wood though, is never uniform. Two peices of wood from within one tree, seperated by only an inch or two, will have radically different internal structure. This is the nature of anything that grows organically.
The structure of the wood becomes the structure of the sound.
@AsylumSeaker They key word is "completely different". Set up an experiment. Guitars made by the same guy in the same way. Let some retard who insists he can tell them apart try to do so consistently as played by the same person in the same way in a blind listening test. Ain't gonna happen.
Rosewood is just a very inconsistent grain by nature-the Brazilian tends to have the most rainbowing of colors and more light streaking compared to most rosewoods I've personally seen.
With that much variation in grain, it's impossible to predict how it will sound with an acoustic.
Electric though, the variation in sound isn't so distinct or unique.
I really like the design of his necks with the extra pocket for better resonation and strength. How about a debate on CNC vs. human built! :p
i dont know about the playing....but awesome vid!

the madagasscar is illegal isnt it? cuz of some import law or act or something of that, Gibson got in trouble for that didnt they?
Mo7Vsta 2 years ago
No, German loggers illegally logged it in a protected area and sold it to Gibson and said it was from Brazil.

Call bullshit on this "same guitars sound completely different" thing. Not buying it. Typical audiophile self-delusion.

Saying that this is bullshit is like saying that twins are exactly the same person with no differences... Nuance is the word. t

You are guilty of plebification of music. There ARE differences, you just can't detect them

There's no such thing as a "same guitar".
