@daoldschoolraplova96 it wasn't built to be a 400+ Hp car. It for comfort and smoothness in how the car drives. I also think they should have kept the LTZ interior as to not have people like you think of it as a really fast sports car from the look. Don't be mistaken in thinking its not a fast car either, it will keep up with just about every car you see on a daily drive. This car is also used as a police car cuz of it good MPG for being a V8 and it's power

Which had its share of mechanical recalls from launch, still riding on an antiquated platform from the early 90's, & still has a lousy interior. So what if it has better MPG's, has the newer DOHC engine & gearbox, nobody will know if you're driving a 2006 or a 2012. Better off getting a new Malibu which blows the current Impala away

These cars are OK. I had a 2006 Monte Carlo with a 3.9, & I loved it. the only engine difference was 61 horsepower.

I got a black 06 impala ss fully loaded and i love it. Kill mustangs all the time and look good doin it. Just could use bigger rotors and upgraded brake components cause its a big fast car.

who cares if its only got a four speed trans there strong, theres a bunch of gtps with the same trans on here with 400+ hp to them and modded trannies with 500-800hp , and as for the engine its all aluminum its probebly lighter than the 3800 thats all cast iron. In my eyes its a damn good platform to have some fun with and i want one : ]........

I'm sorry but this thing is ridiculous, sure its got a big V8 under the hood but its output is sad and Im sure it makes it very nose heavy with a lot of torque steer expected lol Give me a Taurus SHO anyday over this junk. I don't need no gas guzzling V8 especially with gas at $3.50 a gallon LOL

@moparmaniac21 As a 2006 model it came out in late 2005. 6 years since this car last received any exterior & interior tweaks. Aging platform that dates to the 90's, terrible interior, Antiquated V6 engines & transmission up until the last yr where GM gave it the DOHC 3.6L & 6 speed auto which is a huge welcome, but nothing else in terms of improving the interior & refreshing the exterior. Impala nameplate is deserves being placed onto something modern & worthwhile, not a face-lifted Lumina.

@xoquixxoqafxo lol yea v8's suck gas but this also shuts down 4 out of 8 cylinders when in crusing speeds which cuts down on gas mileage i have a 01 monte carlo with 3.4 v6 and my impala ss gets getter gas millage so how is it ridiculous? jus a point to put out im not sayin ur wrong everyone has their right of opinion. lol i love it so far :)

Of course they de-tuned it for this application. Just Like the 95-2002 Lincoln Continental with a Detuned Cobra V8 doing 275 HP FWD when it normally can do 320 HP. And 400++ with mods
