I've only been to Toronto and Niagara Falls and I don't know anything about Montreal, but I've only heard good things. I have a feeling that my lack of French would be a huge barrier to visiting that far east though.

I learned something today! ...so I could get away with knowing absolutely no French? ...or would I want to be there with someone who does when visiting? It seems like a challenge, I'm just not sure if it's a workable one or not.

I've talked with a few people born in France, they tell me Canadian French is confusing to them due to the long duration of seperation, moreso than the difference between North America and UK according to them.
