  • Sounds pretty good to me. Too much whining about early Pantera. I do like the Anselmo era stuff better though, obviously.

  • PanterA still hadn't discovered that Texas Power Groove at this point. The electric drums don't fit here and this guy singing just sounds like every other dude in metal around this time. They had to get rid of this dude to find they're real sound. But once they did, they ruled the metal world. Proof that you gotta crawl before you can "Walk".

  • 0:37 - back in the time when Dimebag Darrell use to be called "Diamond D"!!

  • Early pantera is amazing. NUFF SAID!

  • They sounded just like "Dirty Looks"! Seriously, the singer is even imitating DL's vocalist's signature inflections. I am only a year younger than Dimebag, so I can remember how easy it was for some ppl to get caught up in the hair metal scene, but there was still a very active punk culture happening....

  • so they had a choice, not to mention I had already seen metallica on their kill em all tour by this time which shows you didn't have to jump on the hair metal 'wagon' so to speak. There was "new" music out there, you just had to be able to see it before everyone else already had.

  • Dime was soooooo fucking awesome! God wanted him to play up there and now he rocks in heaven!

  • looks like Justin Bieber has a chance to change after all.

  • is it just me or does Dime look alot like EVH in here

  • "Dont laugh, mister, your daughter will be in here" LMAO

  • watch?v=4_k31gc3ne0

    Phil does this song Texas,1988

  • Fuck, they sounded like every other hair metal band back then. This is shocking.

  • Nile Decapitated Death Pantera Made my fuckin day

  • @webofhair agentsteel appears to be the person who captured it from vhs.

  • @fwerfwater the Hot N Heavy Videos that are out there are ripped from me. I should know since I transferred it myself direct from an original Hot N Heavy vhs I bought in 94.

  • THIS SHIT FUCKING KICKS ASS

  • yeahh yeah yeahhh

  • They're Panterrible!

  • gene simmons' eyes on the car!

  • sounded a lot like van halen at that time!!

  • Awesome!

  • glam Pantera actually kicked major ass in 80's :D and in 90's they ruled even with a huge twist in music playing style :D

    they owned glam & thrash/heavy scene :D

R.I.P Dime ;) you'll be missed forever in world of metal and in hearts of true fans \m/

  • To all those who bag on the glam style, did not obviously live in that era & ever have the chance to capitalize on all the "Totally Hot Metal Chicks" who dug the guys in that garb & that was the door way to pussy my friends back then & people now just don't understand, that's how it was in the "Rockin' Ass '80's"! The entire L.A. strip was dressed like that & we were not fags, but just the opposite, cuz the girls loved it ! The lady's dress to kill to & that was all part of the fun back then !

  • Pantera was kinda gay in the 80's but kicked ass in the 90s

  • It was all downhill for Pantera after this record... (kiiiiiiiiiiiidding)

  • Anvil was kicking Pantera's ass back then...go figure?

  • lol Rex Rocker

  • holy shit

  • dimebag van halen !

  • we emos like pantera

  • @balerinauzicka pantera is emo... you should like it if you're emo like me. PANTERA FOREVER! <3

  • Hey Webofhair, could you be able to upload more footage of Pantera from the Hot N Heavy home video?

  • haha, Dime's prabably 18 years old in this and he still blows my ass away at guitar. I'm 31, granted I don't take guitar playing very seriously, it's still ridiculous that I have been playing since 13 and i still can't touch his skills. I guess if i took it seriously I could, but still.

  • its a great song! but its so GAY

  • @MegaSlayerfan666 keep in mind how long ago this was :)

  • Diamond D terry???? come on thats a rip off from Diamond Dave, from Van Halen

  • @eddiehalenvan Diamond D was Dimebag. Not Terry.

  • wow. this was really a long time ago, like Judas Priest Unleashed in the East old.

  • got it from a guy named Jim A. - was a third-generation VHS copy when I got my hands on it.

  • wow dude this video really opened my eyes to how fucking awesome Pantera was in the 80s...i never thought i would like anything before phil (power metal era), but damn this was sooo radical...this video made me laugh like a maniac, not at the band but with the band...brings me back to being a teenager and just wanting to party and rock out...fuckin sick vid bro...

  • Pantera 83-90 is where it's at.

  • i love this song. but lol its so weird to think that this is the same band that would later do fucking hostile :)

  • who fucked the girl at the end? ;)

    Pantera rules!

  • it's so sad to see these guys with perms. They go from this lame stuff to brutal music. Thank god

  • wow, this is different!

  • Thank god for phill!!!!

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhh

  • I listened there exist an 80´s PanterA home video that packed with footage and two music videos "Hot and Heavy" and "All over tonight" If any one knows where to find it plees tell me.

  • @sacamedeaca well there are thre live videos and three music videos. DGTTM is on Dime Vision which I deleted once it was available for purchase. The other two videos are still available on my channel. Once I get my camera to digitize again other videos will comeback. My old HDD died so the digitized ones I had are gone. Others on youtube have them up that I digitized. The Original tape is near impossible to find. The one I purchased is the only one I have ever seen.

  • haha this is great :) u otta love the sig. tube amp sound of brother dime

  • I was born in 1984 and i still remember that the 80's had the best cartoons and the best music its a shame all they've got today mind numbing shit that'll rot your brain! RIP Dime!

  • Traditional, Tharsh, Glam. THree favorite kinds of metal in that order. What I don't get is why Glam was so ahted, c'mon, the musicians were good, the music was great, it was fun, it was beautiful, it was fun, it had a soul, none of this Death Metal or Grindcore shit...metal needs to be like the 80's again, we need Speed Metal, Traditional Metal, Melodic Thrash Metal, and yes, Glam!

  • LoL @ the bumper sticker at 4:05

  • This is awesome! Enough of all that Glam prejudice, I don't give a crap if this is Glam Metal this fuckin kicks ass!

  • fuscão amarelo rsrsrs

  • omg, the car. Gotta love these guys be it new or old stuff.

  • This song sounds like Michael Schenker Group for me like Ready To Rock or Armed And Ready...

    Great one BTW

  • I love 80s Pantera, especially I Am the Night and Power Metal. CFH and VDOP were fucking great. So much emotion in the ballads especially Cemetary Gates and Hollow. While lyrics are fine on everything on FBD and on, that's when they went downhill. They shoulda went back to the CFH or Power Metal sound.

  • @sorabulq I don't think they went down after FBD, The Great Southern Trendkill and Reinventing The Steel are great records as well though their live performances lost a lot of energy because the Phil's heroine addiction, tensions etc. But they were great even with those problems.

  • and i love vinnie headbanging at 3:20, first time i've ever seen it, thats awesome

  • DOCTOR ROXO AT 1:26!!!!!

  • lmao they always start out with a random car with devil horns out the window in their music vids hahahaha

  • anyone else notice how metallica started heavy and got softer and pantera started soft and got heavy. just some metal history

  • love the headbanging made me laugh. the solo just about melted my face off though. amazing.

  • Cool to see some footage from the 1985 gig at the Bronco Bowl...

  • man the 80s rocked, none of this feeling sorry for myself emo shit, just party time!

  • @docjor Amen to that brother! :P

  • Who the chick at 3:20

  • @syedsaim Valerie Bertanelli? :D

  • HEAVY METAL RULES

  • ha!vinny has a beard since he was concived

  • Can't wait to take you home..beat you with my stick!!! WOoooh baby! Hot and heavy!

  • come on pantera, reissuie this awesomeness man..... what is so fucking hard about that?

  • Poison taught Pantera everything they know -

About wearing make-up and using hairspray.

  • Yeah, because Dokken didnt do that before Poison?

And Pantera couldnt possibly got it from Dokken, considering that they gigged allot with Dokken in the 80's! ;)

  • Too bad that almost no band to-date makes this kind of music anymore :(. All the music now days are mostly computer made shit that makes the band SUCK dick on stage.

  • those were the days..

i remember just how it was swimming around in my fathers sack. just waiting to come out and listen to pantera:P haha

  • is it possible that this will ever be re-released (I Am The Night), and i mean, ever?

  • I thought it was RATT at first!

  • Wow, some old school footage, Pantera looked like they were having so much fun there, 80's was the time for Metal

  • When Dimebag plays the guitar solo, he so looks like Eddie Van Halen. XD

    PanterA = Pure Awesomness

(Back in the 80's AND 90's)

  • There's alot of us out here who prefer the old Pantera's energetic glam metal as opposed to Phil Anselmo's grunting, groaning, and growling about how bad life sucks and how fuct up he is.

  • Indeed brother, not dissing Pantera, but they got too heavy for their own good, forgetting why they went into music in the first place

  • STP Slave The Power 3:58

  • Bong hit an feel this magic... Dime an Vinnie were 19 an 21--- damn----

  • this has got to be the funniest metal clip ever

  • But still Kickin ass... Dimebag forever

  • agree, but i take in note that they were very young back there.... the music kick ass so hard that your anus will not hold for long, though!

  • these guys ruled before they sold out and started making shit grunt metal in the 90's.

  • heavyest song ever?? this is not even heavy

  • Comment removed

  • not bad tbh i mean i was expecting worse form early pantera

  • Great song by Pantera!

  • The ORIGINAL Pantera.

  • Dimebag had won every Guitar contest in Texas by 16---- he was magic-- Now pass the doob...

  • Fuck you, you know what you just plain suck you were or never will be good! jerk

  • hehe nice youtube discovery. the music is

exellent but the pantera guys seems xD, fucked up! good post!

  • RIP Diamond Dimebag Dime Darrell

    we miss you

  • maybe grunge is a good thing or otherwise we might not be watching this right now

  • This Original Pantera? Whose singing?

  • that second VW Bug thats all painted up is mine!

  • not bad. sounds really good.

  • the ONLY hair metal band worth my time

  • i know i was just kidding

  • Amazing quality for a video like this. Seeing this, it makes me think what if they didn't recruit Phil? Would they have still changed metal music throughout the 90's? Although I'm still glad they did.

    R.I.P. Brother Dime

  • Def Leppard looks like a handful of shitty posers compared to Pantera. I'm a true Pantera fan and I think that their albums like 'Metal Magic', 'I Am the Night' or 'Projects in the Jungle' are fucking awesome! True Hard Rock and Speed Metal songs! Pantera Rules! R.I.P. Brother Dime!

  • Back in the alterna-nineties, Pantera seemed to be embarassed by this era. Looking at it now, I see a young band that had so much more talent than any of the cheese metal fucks that ruined metal in the late 80's. Magazines like Guitar World were kissing alot of alternative ass in the 90's claiming that metal was dead, but Darrell was so fucking good that they HAD to give him his own column! He is a true legend of metal guitar and should be recognized for EVERYTHING he did!

  • fuck yeah, dude

    so true!!

  • that white guitar is the famous "dean from hell" XD

    rip dime!!!

  • Sounds BETTER than def leppard

  • nah lol

  • fucking sick!

  • Sounds like Def Leppard

  • @Nuwanbcooldude well in an interview Dime said he was inspired by Pete Willis (original Def Leppard guitarist) a lot.

  • @CraiggyOats also evh and randy rhoads if you watch his young spotlight solo on here he plays bits of eruption and revelation mother in it

  • Sweet video dude! True 80s music!

  • Kick ass 80s

  • Long Live the Hard Roxx Cafe in Lawton, OK in the mid-to-late 80's, where you could see Pantera at least once a month, sometimes 2. FUCK, those were great days!! Never will forget burnin' with "Diamond", Rex, and Vinnie behind the Roxx while Terry Lee got blown 10 feet away!! Good times, man!

  • So, when did phil join pantera?

What albums did phil start sing in?

  • The fisrt album he did was Power Metal (their best album if you ask me) in 1988 :)

  • Phil didn't wrote the lyrics for power metal.

  • 1988 he started to sing at the album , power metal :)

  • you can never go wrong with pantera any day no matter 80s or 90s pantera

  • I thought it was "blow my top"...?
