@AHurricaneProduction lol I think this and another handful of rides at Tokyo Disney (Winnie The Pooh, Mermaid Lagoon, Arabian Coast so on) are like secretly protected. Half of what makes this park special is the fact that most of the rides are unique to this park. This is the most popular attraction, I personally think it will never be cloned.
This is great. Our upcoming wedding theme is Journey to the Center of the Earth and I wish, I wish, I WISH our honeymoon could be going to this park just to ride this!
Amazing ride!!! I feel like the only thing it's missing is a little "coda" at the end, just one more good scene, like Splash Mountain. But all the same, incredible!
cool, thanks for sharing! question though: how do you film a dark ride and have it come out so well? I'll admit, I've tried unsuccessfully on past visits to amusement parks, and they never come out right. all I get are little light blurbs here and there.
Oh, wow, I was directed here to check this vid out. I didn't even know Tokyo had a ride like this, I would totally want to experience this first hand. Great vid!
Great ride. Looks like Disney used a similar ride system as Test Track in Epcot. I hear that the Dwarf's Mine Train ride in the new Fantasyland will be part dark ride, part coaster, much like this ride.
@SnakeVash Watch De Vliegende Hollander (The Flying Ducthman) in the Efteling (the Netherlands) . It's seriously one of the most beautiful and wel themed coaster i've ever bin on.
I live in Anaheim (yes, where the magic began) but sadly I'm moving to South America, unhappy cause there no Disneyland, but I told my dad that "if we're moving to a place that has no Disneyland, every year on my birthday, forget parties, you're going to take me toa Disneyland on either four parts of the world: Anaheim, Paris, Orlando, or......Tokyo
@1tacoman17 well I have mentioned going to Disneyland Resort, which is clearly in Anaheim (which is CLEARLY in California) but if you're talking about California Adventure, then I must say thank you, bcuz I haven't thought of that. :)
This has been said 109876 times, but this is an amazing ride utilising amazing technology and encasing it in completely immersive and beautiful and functioning theming. As for the Yeti comment- exactly! Why does the US get the shaft in funding? We'll see how the glitz and glamour of Radiator Springs pans out... Big Thunder 2.0?
@oldrestless Search "Voyage to the Center of the Earth Ride" and click on the first video. If you go to 3:10 it has an on-ride view. It is a water raft ride that is "underground" the whole way and even though the theming is not as cool it is out of control fun.
@themeparkreviewTPR haha well maybe I've never been on this ride and you've never ridden the slide so who knows. This ride does look a lot more epic, the slide is just fun.
No the ride system is basically a test track clone with a different layout.
Its really an awesome ride and Probably one of the nicest disney parks. Shame they never built it in california like they were supposed to before the built it in tokyo.
@Cruiseshipfan Disney still has the rights to the parks, they lease the Imagineers and all the Disney branding to the Oriental Land Company, who funds all construction.
@thedragoonknight Yes thats what I mean its not disney who runs the show. Oriental Land Runs it not Disney. The company who funds it decides where the money is spent and they actually spend the money not like Disney now days.
@havocster58 The answer is money. Tokyo Disney is run by a seperate company who have more money The Walt Disney Company (If you can believe it) so they are able to have better standards of upkeep. In addition the Yeti doesn't move any more because when it swung its arms it would shake the whole structure, which is very obviously dangerous. And before anyone that reads this can dispute that, I should mention that I got my information directly from a Disney Cast Member.
They should put in a Trip To the moon attraction.
