I knew you were going to use Yellow Submarine, it was a no brainer really!!. Of course you had to use standard graphics in that instance because on the PC version it's a silver submarine!!
Regarding my method of using a pile of rocks next to that bottom mid-air cage I did experiment with shunting five rocks down but for me it wasn't significantly quicker so I dropped it.
Of course it's possible on the original, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do it :)
