  • remember Lurch

  • His name is Shin-ichiro Nakano.

  • wouw .. what a LOVELEY piece, who wrote this piece ? what is this piece called ?

  • sounds like the ultimate harpsichord but but a real must have falses in the pitch and musnt be in this perfection.

  • *_* this is pure awesomeness!!

  • What work is, and where i can get the score?

  • @clavicembalous3030 La Marche des Scythes de Royer Pancrace

  • this a digital (harpsichord) roland c30, its not a clavichord.

Este un roland c30 (clave) digital, no es un clavicordio.

  • Wonderful, but the classic taste of ivory and real chords on such a clavichord will always sound better to my ears. Even with Roland's usually handywork, I can still easily tell that the sound is being generated from programmed notes and an amplifier compared to real vibrations of the air.

  • @SoldatSolutrea

Let me know if you ever find a harpsichord with ivory keys, I would immediately send CNN :)

Harpsichord keys are made of wood, ivory is far too heavy. After 1700 you will find some instruments embelished with pearl, expensive wood, tin and even silver, but very rarely with ivory.

By the way, for everyone, this electric thing is pretending to sound like a harpsichord, not a clavichord. Allthough it might have a clavichord sound on it somewhere.

  • thanks you friend.

  • what song is? it is an improvisation

  • @TheBrandan6

The piece is called La Marche des Scythes from Pancrace Royer. It is hard in the term of ornamentation, technicques aren't so hard as it looks. They are mostly arpeggios. But it is very funny piece and joy to play :)

  • @herrlogan17 The rapid arpeggios, abrupt timing changes, and acrobatic hand crossovers make this a very difficult piece to play. Only the very advanced and expert players will attempt it.

  • Muito bom,

    Meus parabens.

    Very good, congratulations.

  • Roland have done a great, great job. Given a free choice, I'd still buy a real one...

...first, and then this one as soon as I could.

Sadly and most probably, buying this one is the only choice that exists in the realm of the physical world.

BTW, don't forget to watch the vid with &fmt=18 at the end of the web address. The stereo version sounds infinitely better.

  • what song is?

  • Very good.

  • I hate that the C30 doesn't have inverted colors on the keys. The sound itself is not bad at all.

But Price is somewhat high, I find.

  • Totally agree. Why haven't they inverted the colors? The traditional harpsichord and pianoforte had the black ones white and the white ones black.

  • Yes, isnt it a shame. I would immediately put my money in it, if it would look like a real harpsichord.

  • This combination of piece and interpretation are not at all well suited for the instrument. The piece "Marche des Scythes" by Pancrace Royer (sheet music available free at WIMA) sounds terrible here, but that doesn't mean the instrument itself is inadequate. I feel it might be a fair auxiliary keyboard for people who can't always care for a harpsichord.

  • I know this piece, but cannot find the title anymore... Somebody help me? Thanks in advance!

  • prodigi

  • точно! :)

  • I agree with sk8nruff, the real instrument is better

  • Paradox., I agree with both sk8nruff and piriapolis2008. I would add: why not both of them together, side by side, in this modern world?

  • Like all modern conviences it's a cheaper alternative but will never match, in any way, shape, or form, not even inherently, a real instrument. Having actual strings, a real sound board, real plectra...it's something to aim for but I wouldn't trade the real mccoy for this thing, impressive as it is in it's own right.

  • I agree, but with a slight reservation. Of course, acoustic and digital harpsichords cannot be compared, after all they are two completely different instruments. I have seen lousy harpsichords horribly out of tune also in YouTube. If Roland has chosen to make an affordable, lightweight instrument with basically no need for maintenance, always in tune, simulating very well the touch and sound of a reasonably good acoustic instrument, which can be played without disturbing anyone, so why not?

  • excelent sound and interpretation, the c30 its the same of a harpsichord but the price is very low comparated with a original harpsichord traditional, very well instrument
