Just how does government change Terminator? Why don't you have your staff do an analysis on the ratio of administrative/clerical/admins­trative support job positions versus actual performance related functional positions that the people of California require to take care of their tax dollar and infrastructure? The State is so top heavy in inefficient admin positions that if you cut 5000 jobs across the board, general fund or not, the budget would more than likely balance. Give it a look!

Yes, I am no accountant either but it seems that the less efficient you are, the more they promote. The one that does the most talking and the least amount of work, gets the job.

Paying off the Chinese no longer in our paper dollar no longer pay off the debt. Paying down the debt take money earned or you have a junk bond rating. Because print money is nothing but paper money until earned.

Earned money is capital money and money capital is to produce and to sell what you have produced and an appreciating dollar is in its economics but an depreciating dollar is what cost more than what could be make in the money. Spending by hyper-inflating more makes the money paper

There is gazzilion goverment programs that dont work, yet every time burecrats are faced with budget cuts, they point to Firefighters, Police, Prisons and Teachers as first things to cut in a budget.

Cut the entitlements, stop the Green BS (we cant afford it anyway at tthis time). Stop giving illegals a free ride...

And stop pushing the choochoo train projectds god dammit. Wake up california!

Fact: CA State workers are the highest paid in the nation Fact: Ca state workers have the most lavish pension benefits. Fact: It costs approx $47,000 a year to house a prison inmate in CA vs $27,000 nationally. If the private sector is adjusting to these hard times by trimming costs, the public sector also needs to do it's part. It's about shared sacrifice and so far no one in Sacramento has called for making sacrifces out of fear of confronting these out of control lobbies..

Are you kidding? Where do you live? I am a CA State employee. A single mother who has in 11 year of employment with CA had my Heath benefits rise from $50 to $500 (cut in pay) No raises for several years at a time. (public doesn't hear about that!) I have a son in college and a disable daughter. Nonuniform staff are the lowest paid employees who are taking the cuts in pay not the officers and guards at the prisions or Legislators or Managers who make 5 & 6 figure incomes ... Think about it!

Good job but you need to do a better job of embarassing the special interest (i.e. state employee unions, prison guard unions etc...) because I don't think the average Californian understands how much "fat" can be trimmed from the states budget. ...

I have never seen a Governor fight so hard and tirelessly to save his state. You have been doing this 24/7 for how long now? Even the Terminator in T-2 said he needed a vacation! One of my favorite scenes by the way. I can not believe some folks can not see ahead on just how brilliant a lot of these cuts are, and how they will play out. In just one area for example, people that deserve and need help will have it. Fraudulence will be TERMINATED.
