  • I got an app for that on my android

  • 2-11-11, Will do you have something wrong with your teeth, you are very hard to understand, you talk too fast - don't say "ya I know" slow down. Your trying to teach newbe's, who don't need to be confused anymore. OK?

  • @today441 Thanks, I am getting better. This vid was shot 3 years and 300 videos ago!

  • yesssss....!!!!!!!!!! just tuned my first guitar and thanks this really helped

  • Couls I first tune the low E string? Does it matter?

  • @socoolgirl007 I don't think it matters. Tune it however is comfortable for you!

  • does it need to have a tuning fork to tune a classical guitar?

  • I need some help with tuning my E string!!! Yesterday I opened my guitar case after not having played for a couple of years. I tried to tune the guitar, but I could not get the high note in the E-string. It kept on sounding like the second string. SoI tightened the string more to get a higher note, but It snapped! So I went to the store to buy new strings. Again the same case. How do I get the high note in my E-string??? I hope someone can help me...

  • @hebikniet123 I am wondering if something is wrong here. You might have to have the guitar looked at. It might be the guitar. Or you can put a string on, tighten it some then let it sit for a day so it acclimates. Then try tuning it the next day. Odd problem here. Do you have some kind of a tuner so you get the note right?

  • @epicfantasy Thanks for your tip. Yes it is really odd.

The E-string is even tenser/tighter than the second string.

I tuned the guitar by first tuning the low E string with a fork and from there get the rest of the strings correctly in tune.

  • @hebikniet123 Seems odd, Either you are missing the high pitched e by an octave or something needs looking at on the guitar.

  • @epicfantasy It's probably one of the theese three things, the wrong string, an octave off or something wrong with the guitar, have it checked out a pro and he'll tell you in a heartbeat!!

  • @hebikniet123 hey u should replace the old string because they get rusted and sound s different

  • @aryaman26

Thanks for your response, it happened after I changed the strings.

After that, I changed the high E string again to make sure that nothing is worng. Yet again, same problem...

  • you talk SO fast.

  • I bought my classical guitar once for €10,- at a store. :x

It looks pretty good but I didn't use it for a few years and some of the strings are from some kind of metal so they kind of snapped ^-^"

I think a violin tuner works fine too, right? As they are both C instruments.

  • I would get some new strings and a guitar tuner! Been a couple of years, I would miss it. I don't know anything about violin tuners but I would say that a note is a note and you could use it to tune your guitar.

  • @epicfantasy

I'm happy it's a C tuner. Great how you tune your guitar ;)

  • @Kiger8Kiger I use a tuning fork to establish one note then tune the rest of the strings off that.

  • @epicfantasy

    I know ^^

  • @MegamiTsubasa I know the feeling I've had BassGuitar for three years and a Classical nylon stringed guitar for ten years and I still cant play one song!! I know some chords and can pick, play and fiddle with it and sometimes I get lucky and it even sounds okay but that's it. I try to find time to practice, when I do the wife is home and she just nags about the "noise" I make. I dream of the day I can play well enough for it to be a joy to listen too, as well as play!!

  • Never hit a tuning fork on a hard surface. Over time this will damage the accuracy of the device. Hit it on a soft surface such as your knee.

  • Actually you can squeeze the fork gently between two fingers. If you slide the fingers of the end of the fork it will resonate. No need to hit the fork on any surface at all.

  • I wonder if he's got this under 5 minutes yet...

  • i just got a classic guitar for christmas...i dont start my lessons until january and ive been searching online for help on how to tune my guitar ..cuz im a beginner and i have no idea how its suppose to sound ..should i buy a tuner ?

  • HI, If you can swing it you should buy a tuner. I have a tutorial with the notes in wav form for each string so you can try to tune to that. I will send you the link.

  • ex:

you know the 5th fret of the E string is A and that it's suppose to sound perfectly with the A string, there I tune that, then I tune it for the D string perfectly too... Then I check the E string with the next octave of both the second fret of the D string and 7th fret of the A string, little problems so I fix it up.... but then when I check for the 7th fret (A) of the D string and the A string by itself... IT SOUNDS COMPLETELY OUT OF TUNE! Maybe it's b/c my E string is older than the rest.

  • yah I realized that my guitar, is never perfectly tuned, like the first 3 strings are the hardest to get perfectly... like when I tune I use all the tuning tricks, and sometimes I can't get it right.... I know how to tune with my other guitars, but classical....

  • Hmm... I need to learn how to play a guitar. I'm a big fan of rock music, so I might also consider the electric guitar, lol.

  • Thanks, i think i've tuned it now :P

By the way you sort of sound like Vince Vaughn :P

  • Nice! Funny thing about tuning a guitar is that soon it will be real easy for you to do. First few times are hard but After a few times you really start to hear it.

enjoy your music! Oh and thanks :) I wonder if Vince Vaughns voice it the reason why Jennifer Aniston dated him? lol

  • Hahaha that may be so. :)

  • yur a badass!

  • I think this was an excellant video while I learned to tune many years ago,and have always tried to stress to beginners the importance of stretching new sets of strings it is rarely talked about in tutorials.

Also the points of winding strings, and to never wind one way and attempt to reverse them as it will most likely result in string breaks.anyhow nice vid.

  • can classical guitar play the same songs as acoustic guitar?

  • They sure can. Classical guitars have a different sound though mostly because of the nylon strings.

  • thanks , but dosent the classic guitar sound different than an acoustic?

  • Yup, it sure does. Predominantly because a classical guitar has nylon and silk strings rather than the steel strings on a regular acoustic guitar. The Classical guitar is much softer and melodic. Better for richer melodies rather than strumming.

  • You are very welcome! I hope you enjoy your future with the classical guitar!

  • THANKS
