@need2speed94 I think the issue is that in dropping in a v8, you just end up making it into something of an unwieldy muscle car. While anything with a V8 and RWD is nice for hooning and mucking about, the 240Z was designed to be a sports car and inline-6 engines are good for weight distribution and balance while having moderate power that was good for its time (at least, that is my best educated guess).

If you have a fucking RB26DETT, then you probably have the Skyline it came with. Why would you want to ruin the Skyline by leaving it motorless and put with motor in a freaking 240Z? The 240Z is nice for sure, but generally in terms of performance and value, Skyline > 240Z. Besides if you're swapping motors, original value is gone anyways so why not use SBC and get the same power for far less? Weight? You can balance the difference easily and increase the power to compensate without going broke.
