Every community has it drawbacks and Morgan City is no different.I remember some of the best times of my life occured there.The people and cutlure are priceless. It is what you make it. It's full of such rich history if one looks for it.Locals.Just be glad the nasty posters here decided to leave.U don't need people like that

Yea, the place may be boring. We don't have any places to go out and have fun. Not a whole lot of places you can go eat. And really, the town is too small for it's own good. BUT, it's HOME. I was born and raised in Morgan City, Louisiana and now I life in Houston. I miss that boring place so much. People are lucky to get away but there is nothing like going back HOME. =]

I live here too, it could be a boomin city if the city would model after its neighbor Houma, Morgan city has a big port that can support major ship, but too small of an entrance. I think if Morgan city would allow more commerce and those rich asses would let the city grow then it would a great city. I would support it. I love the city and I'd like to see it better than Houma. I heard people in Houma put Morgan city alot. Hey we can do better I know it. I'm a supporter.

It does suck but a good place to visit if you like to ride bikes this little town has very wide streets the slowest speed limits and a new bike path that is paved. This village is idel if you want to live in a place where you can do all your business on a bicycle. What blew me away was they had power 2 days after Gustov hit directly we have people around 70346 still out of power. MCLA has their own power generating plant so they get it back on faster.
Every where else in the state has had growth and this place declined and they have industry but declined becasue they are not lawful it is a good ole boy system all the way. I only go there for funerals I am so glad I sold that land this place is a dead end. Their police force is under investigation last I heard. I use to walk to work the police would hassle me all the time it isn't illegal to walk! ACLU could rack up win after win there. MCLA you can kiss my ass.

Some places only take cash, even the sewage place nearby only takes cash check or monry orders. This town needs to get with the times. This IS the town that time forgot!

We actually went back for the afternoon the Saturday of Shrimp fest--muggy and rainy as usual! Walked the food and crafts area under the bridge and it felt kinda 3rd-worldish at times--laughed at how few boats were on the riverfront.
