We have been waiting since labour was elected for peter to make his mark on politics, and so far the government's lack of decisive environmental policy has been put down to Garrets newness to this side of politics by his supporters. The incredibly pitiful 2020 emissions targets, however, seem to show that Garrett has either abandoned some of his previous passion, or has very little power within the government. Hopefully this changes before his term is over.

I'm enjoying my own Sound Relief concert right here in Longreach, Qld.
I bought the T shirt and made a donation so its a great way to pass Saturday afternoon while the real thing is happening in my home City, of Melbourne.
To the kockers, unfortunately poilitics insists on compromise and it's better to be on the inside making policy decisions than outside... having no effect at all.

Garrett sold out years back as far as I'm concerned and I told him so flat to his face and our friendship died over it. If he's Minister of the Environment now it doesn't change what he did in between ( turned his back on everything he sang for back then believe me) However I still love the music of Midnight Oil. I totally agree on this one, "mate", but have to tell you that the reason for this is not lack of intelligence but of education. Our educational system is worse than Mexico's but for those who can afford it, we got universities better than Oxford, Sorbonne, Leuven or Heidelberg. We got few of the best and a lot of the least educated ppl in the West. As for the milk; everyone knows it comes from the milk factory, just cos you have none..:-p

to say you have unis "better" than oxford etc is quite simplistic. it depends what areas you're studying. i dont disagree that the US has some of the preeminent research unis in the world but that doesnt mean that they are "better" than all the other unis of the world. thats up to opinion and area of study tbh

We have been waiting since labour was elected for peter to make his mark on politics, and so far the government's lack of decisive environmental policy has been put down to Garrets newness to this side of politics by his supporters. The incredibly pitiful 2020 emissions targets, however, seem to show that Garrett has either abandoned some of his previous passion, or has very little power within the government. Hopefully this changes before his term is over.
