  • was listening for almost a minute before i realized it was in japanese. aikido speaks for itself.

  • @13orangecake This is really true indeed, and characteristic to Saito Sensei's classes.

  • un aikido maravilloso wonderfull¡¡¡¡ aikido¡¡¡¡

  • The title is misleading, Saito Sensei is teacher of Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu and not Iwama Ryu Aikido.

  • @larbo1616 SAITO Sensei used the terms "Takemusu Aikido" as his teacher used to do so. Later, he also used the terms "Iwama Ryu".

  • @AikiDojoFr Did he use that term for his style of Daito Ryu or did he see it as a distinct style?

  • @larbo1616 SAITO Sensei always repeated he teaches in O'Sensei's dojo, so he only had to teach O'Sensei technics, "other teachers are able to teach they own Aikido technics, I don't have too".

  • @AikiDojoFr Why did he went apart of Aikikai? Not just because of the weapons training, was it? I would like to train a lot more with Bokken and Jo, I think it helps to build a solid kamae (solid grounding - I don´t know the correct therm).

  • @AtmanxId M. SAITO Sensei belonged to Aikikai actually. He received his 8th Dan from O'Sensei (I don't know at what time he finally accepted the 9th Dan from the Aikikai - In 1986 he was still 8th Dan). If you like weapon practice, I would recommend you to try to met a teacher from Iwama Ryu.

  • @AikiDojoFr There is none Iwama Ryu Sensei over here (Brazil - Paraná). I really enjoy the Dojo where I´m practicing now, it is Aikido at all and nothing about "Ki-Aikido" or "Real Aikido" stuff... LOL! . But, in the beginning, back to 2002 we usually had weapon practice (Aiki-ken, Aiki-jo), and them something changed: so, now these trainings became rare.

  • Merci beaucoup
