I remember buying my Voodoo 3 back in 1999 (in conjunction with a PS3 450). I was blown away. I was able to max out all the games, even Unreal, and play in resolutions which were unplayable on other cards. It was an amazing piece of technology. I miss 3dfx and Glide.
@saberj2x Every computer game in 1999 had Glide support, 3dfx Ruled in the late 1990s every one in the world that gamed at that time knew that. Not only that in the game Driver (1999) the 3dfx logo appears before you play Driver. Yes every game made in the late 1990s supported Glide, D3D, and Open GL, I know I played alot of games in 1998 to 2001 Full Time, 40 hours a week or more, my friends all used 3dfx cards me I used a Guillemot GeForce 256 3D Prophet, then 3dfx V3 2000, 3dfx way better.
@eugen1225 I had a Guillemot GeForce 256 AGP , video card, in my computer when they first came out, thought that card was the greatest. then i seen some 3dfx cards for sale, 3dfx going out of business, bought the 3dfx V-3 2000 PCI version, I was shocked, games played much faster, my buddies were right, voodoo cards were the best, magazines were saying geforce were the best. I should have bought high end voodoo cards than two geforce 256 cards at time.
@JusticeYouWant2010 so its all your fault they went out of business? shame on you. should have bought a voodoo, but no, you gave your money to nvidia.. & now Nvidia is all there is . tut tut. lol i hold you personally responsible. haha.. (joke)
I 100% agree...Even Diablo 2 has special exclusive gfx effects when you run it under Glide driver. My Voodoo 3 2000 PCI save my ass when I was using it on my poor K6-2 500... I could play so many games thanks to this wonderful card.
The last one I played was Metal Fatigue (Metal Conflict in Europe), or Hitman 1..not sure.
@Mitko54682DS The Original game "Driver", GT Interactive, (You are the wheelman ) 1999. My gaming friends told me back in 1999 that Driver used a Demolition Derby engine for this game. When I use to game full time, and at the end of some stress full gaming, I would unwind with the game Driver, Take a Ride mode. I use this game to test all my Video Cards, it has a legit 3D API, ( Application Programming Interface) ; set of standard, legit rules to run 3D applications and games.
@commodore256 There isn't sound because this computer (Pent. 3, 660E) I picked up for $60 2nd hand, had a defective hard drive. So I found a Refurbished 40 GB Seagate Barracuda 7200 rpm, and installed Windows 98 SE, and could not find older Creative onboard sound drivers. That's why there isn't any sound.
@commodore256 I just uploaded three new 3dfx / Driver / Videos on you tube/ with sound, you can check them out, September 5, 2010, using Sound Blaster Live (full version). Check them out!

@JusticeYouWant2010 This is definitely Glide, you can tell by the lighting, D3D lights were horrible or non-existant back then.

@JusticeYouWant2010 Cool, I have a Sound Blaster Live too, but it doesn't work, I found it in a "bargain bin".
I think it could be my OEM PC.
