Because you said, you traveled to every country in sub saharan Africa, and my family from there so i would had grilled you to see whether you were telling the truth.
I disagree with you most Black African countries are all or majority Black i have been all over Africa and have seen for myself and South Africa is the only diverse country in sub Saharan Africa but even South Africa is majority Black when it comes to a Black African country we (THE WORLD) expect to see Black beauty queens mostly every country in the world is not diverse like the U.S.A Brazil or the carribean and i am glad about that
To All, a msge regarding Odile's Namibian heritage. Read up about Namibia & SA, before you say something. Odile, like myself, we are of mixed descendants, but not immediate nor 2nd or 3rd generation. Our mix happened over 300-400 years ago and the law of SA did not allow a person of mix heritage to mix with either black or white. Therefore, like Odile & Many others in Nam we are mix, but none of my parents are white or black nor my grandparents or grt grandparents, BUT we are true Namibians.
chocolatebooty81, Odile Gertze was born and raised in Namibia. She is a Namibian. Her father and mother are both Namibians. Her accent is also not that different then most afrikaans speaking people living here in Namibia.
i agree @chocolatebooty81... all these light skin girls representing BEAUTIFUL Africa.... but there are few true dark Africans in the competition though... but she is cute none the less
am sick of seeing all thesse light skin women represent Black African countires as if the only Beautiful Blackwoman is the light skin tone WHAT A DISGRACE
@chocolatebooty81 I agree with you. What a shame. Africa is Afraid of the Dark. So sad. Light skin is part of beauty but not the definition of beauty. europe has successfully poisoned the mind. american tv has mass marketed the poison.sad.the power of mental slavery
@brokecreole i totally agree with you this girl representing Namibia is beautiful but i wonder if she really is from Namibia i wonder did she grow up in Namibia or not she is mixed and she has a British accent maybe one of her parents may be from Namibia
@chocolatebooty81 There aren't that many Khoisan in Namibia in compairison to other tribes..and her accent is very south african-sounding, pretty far from brittish..wich is very usual for the mixed people of Namibia, who by the way don't like to identify themselfes with the black part of the population (the overwelming majority), who sound entirely different
@chochopav I agree with you in a sense but i will say that White South Africans of British origin sounds like they could be from UK when they speak English the lady here is mix but someone had replied back to me saying that she look Khoisan in which i disagree with
@chocolatebooty81 There is no disgrace...I don't see why you're so butthurt about it. Northern Ireland and Australia both have black chicks as candidates, and I don't see anyone complaining.
@GhostOfAStranger1 Well i am so will others keep complaining until we see more pure authentic Black African beauty queens represent their countries and you say Northern Ireland and Austrailia have had Black candidates but i am pretty sure they only made it that far and did not win against all the White women to reprsent Australia and Northern Ireland in beauty pageants i have never even seen an Aboriginal women represnt her native Australia i only see white women what a shame
@chocolatebooty81 Uh look it up then. Both were in the same Miss World 2010 pageant. One represented Australia, the other was the first black woman to represent Northern Ireland. And for the record, natural black skin varies from brown to dark brown. Not everyone native to Africa that is from the Bantu ethnicity is black as night.
@chocolatebooty81 There was a Miss Universe from Namibian, and she was White. I think people outside countries, like Africa and The Caribbean, are always surprised that there are different colours. Africa like The Caribbean is not a home for one type of people. There are diversity of all over these countries, so its not surprising the you may see, Black,, brown, white and others colours representing thier country. Its a beautiful thing.
