After a user gets a certain amount of collective video views they can apply for a "partnership" with youtube.

Ads appear before their videos, but youtube pays them.

The more views the videos get, the more money the people get.

That's why charles uses really weird names to attract people to the videos.

Also, I think you would have a higher chance of getting a response if you asked him on twitter or through the contact form on the website.
