Actually, Yang Tae Young has an extra element in his routine that would get no value making his routine start lower than a 10.0. Go look at the routine and you'll see.
So, you're saying that a gymnast that gets a medal is set for life, monitarily? The only american gymnast that made money from gymnastics was Mary Lou Retton... You're an idiot, unless you're trolling or something.
Look, I'm going to settle this. I've been a nationally-ranked men's gymnastics judge for a while now, and - having gone back numerous times and judged their routines - it wouldn't have mattered. First, Yang Tae Young's PB set was overscored by enough that it would have more than offset any hypothetical gain from Paul's vault. Secondly, the problem's not so much in the system as with the judges who applied it at those Olympics. The men's scoring system is very objectively written.
alright - still the korean was cheated out of a point because they gave him a lower start value then he actually was supposed to get. i'm not saying he is bad, he obviously is the best american. I'm just saying that it wasn't fair
Hey man, to me he's the best. He may have made a grave mistake in the vault but he showed great composure to get back from the mistake, and that's what's olympics about. It's not only skills that's important but other factors like mental strength as well.
Cool idea! (Except I always cringe when I see that vault clip, so I did a lot of cringing!) I'd love to see a Morgan montage if you ever get to it. :o)

Put the blame on the judges and the system, not the gymnast...
