It is not for begginers. I am 32 and been dancing salsa since I was 2!! that is not the salsa you want to learn and this is not the way people dance salsa in Latin America when they go on a night out. They are trying to teach salsa to dance it in a theatre. Start with the basics! and teach people how to move their hips and feel the rythm. I hate when I go to place to dance and it's crowded and there is a pretentious couple that wants to get all the dance floor for them with this kind of perform

i completely agree with you. it is really shameful that both my parents are cuban and so am i and i cant even salsa. i am trying to learn because my quinceanera is this year and i want to be able to dance at my own party. i have pretty bad rythym and it is so embarassing. i need help. im going to take classes this summer but i want to at least master the basics so i dont look like a fool.

Aww! It's quite simple actually. Salsa has 8 beats and u dont really have to do much on beats 4 and 8. So if you understand the foot work (foot forward, then back to center, repeat with other foot), try moving your hips, it'll really make your salsa look natural. The key is to have fun. Salsa is a very loose and confident dance. Usually when people have trouble dancing it, they're just stiff, and when they loosen up, they can dance great. Go ahead and give that a try.
