iv lived in n.j all my life so far lined in northen new jersey untill 1988-89 and been liveing down in south jersey ever since less then an hour north of wildwood n.j and i never reliesed or knowen about the great history of our railroad its was all before my time but but man do i wish i was there to see it all before A.C and P.A & north jersey turned into the run down shit hole that it is today this is a great video i realy mean that
The bus industry not only gets grants to operate fixed route services. But also many states provide money and grants for equipment. They use public roads, and lobby against passenger rail. I also paid the taxes on train tickets untill 1965, money that was used along with trust funds to build highways and airports.
The speaker is cut out alot. There is also a mistake! Conrail did not use the 1933 downtown PRSL station. When I rode it in the late 1970's or early 1980's we stopped at a small building in a BAD area. The RDC had bad flat spots on the wheels! We banged our way to Atlantic City and back. The downtown terminal had been taken over by the bus lobby. The industry, that uses public stations or Amtrak stations, so it doesn't have real estate or terminal taxes or costs.
