its actually different....

she loves the way, he does use a similar bassline, but he actually uses his voice first when he's doing the beat, and add the shakers and sharper snare.

but i like this song better.....BOTH OF THEM ARE STILL AMAZING

I just LOVE his original stuff, he sounds amazing-the same style of music I'm into. But I think he's been original on AI as much as possible-and not just by singing, but the whole quirks and mannerisms he does. That's why he gets a lot of flack. A lot of viewers, and I wouldn't be surprised if Paula has no idea how great he was prior to idol (srry if you can't understant what I'm typing, a little drunk.)

I'm not saying I don't like him. I do. However, he's not as original as some of you think. I hear a lot of Jason Mraz and Beck in what he does and the idea of live solo sampling and mixing I know from Keller Williams from nearly 10 years ago. I wonder how marketable he might be since he seems to be traveling some of the stylistic roads Justin Timberlake is traveling lately. I won't deny he's a very beautiful package though...

I agree to some extent...half the reason he gets so much "originality" praise on Idol is that the judges have apparently never heard a 311 song. Ever. But I do think he's the most creative of all of them, and I like the overall performance he creates on Idol. I also love his original stuff, even when it's reminiscent of Mraz and others.
