Thanks for posting this. I like Kenneth Anger. I first saw clips of his movies in a lecture given by Craig Baldwin, instructor and film maker. He was talking about the effect of collage art in the 50's and 60's on film...how it translate. I bought his collection on DVD and it's great...his commentary is priceless.

I first read about Kenneth Anger's activity in an old book called: "The Devil's Avenger" by Burton Wolfe. It talked about Anger's friendship with Anton LaVey and it even included a picture of him at Daphne's Funeral Home in San Francisco where LaVey was conducting a funeral for a Navy man who was killed in a car accident. In the same book, there is another picture of Susan Atkins exiting a coffin during one of the ceremonies. It was through this book which got me interested in this man.

Anger was at Curtis Harrington's funeral service at Hollywood forever in '07. He was FILMING, until they made him stop. He kept yelling out facts and such during the eulogy. kenneth anger came from well off family, but he has made royalties from his books, and films for years. but your right it has not. He has lived VERY modestly, often just crashing with his friends over the years since the 60s.

He lived with Anton Levay in the 80s, and in the 90s he also made money participating in lectures about magick all around the world. In the last few years he has been making a killing since the official DVD releases , the Volume 1 and 2 of the Kenneth Anger collection .
