Absolutely great film with awesome fight scenes. Scott Adkins is currently my favorite Action star. He's amazing. Mika Hijii was great too.This film is one of my favorite Non-stop-action films of the 2000's - along with Jurassic Park 3 (2001), Running Scared (2006), Ultraviolet (2006), The Condemned (2007), Shoot 'Em Up (2007), Eagle Eye (2008), The Tournament (2009)

@antbeast123 A ninja's primary weapon was a sword and I can't remember what the name of the chain weapon was but I don't think they even used the chain weapon in the 14th century. Why would they need a sword when all they needed to do was cut a guy's head clean off his body with the chain blade. Ninja where assassins by the way so they wouldn't need a sword if they could kill somebody without them being seen using the chain weapon. Swords were used in the 14th century, not the chain weapon.

A prequel could delve into the backstory of the ancient times with their different wars going on and could go back to the life of the Sensei as he was younger, how he was trained and they could come up with a whole nother story.

This movie surprised me. I thought it was going to be bad because it was only rated at 3 out of 5 stars on Netflix but damn the action and fight scenes were top notch. Some things were a little unbelievable but that's what I like to see in my action martial arts/kung fu movies. They had a lot of fight scenes too but not too many where there was no story. I actually thought the story was pretty good. I actually want to see a prequel made for this movie. I think it would be good.

Best ninja movie ever was beveryhills ninja because it was an intentional joke unlike the rest of the ninja themed films which are unintentional jokes. I always find the main protagonists in these martial art films to be reminiscent of wizards "My power level is 500 you can never beat me MUAHAHAHAH" check storm riders/warriors out if you dont think so. @theadizo For one thing, it's Capoeira, both are technically from Brazil. Capoeira was made because slaves had to hid fighting training in dance so their masters couldn't notice, made by africans. It is a martial art that is still effective though however, it is where breakdancing was made from, breakdancing got the idea from this martial art. Search Lateef Crowder for an example of it, I study it, started that one recently.  But it's very evasive and you trick the opponent a lot.

He's a good fighter but there are muay boran people (Real ones not american ones) that could beat him. @changtue Lol brazilian jiu-jitsu is only 1/20th of the actual jiu-jitsu. A master of that art about 100 years ago, maybe less, left japan to show the art of jiu-jitsu to foreigners, brazil was just one of his stops. That is where he met Hélio Gracie's father. He wanted him to teach Hélio how to do his art, money was no problem cause they were big time captolists. @changtue fighting, this is why the gracies are not that good and lower half of ground fighting, just upper body. This is also why they keep losing to the japanese. Gracie jiu-jitsu is a joke. and taekwondo is a joke as well, if you were to do those high kicks in a real fight against someone who actually knows how to fight, you are going to end up breaking your neck. Learn a real martial art.
