  • is it just me or does carson stumble all over himself like a silly star-gazed fan?

  • carson and paul both were uncomfortable with each other! i wondered if P even talked to C off stage? The beatles never appriciated jonnnys insualting jokes about them when they were new to the usa.. Paul needed to promo his movie. I never have heard any beatle sing a beatle song on carson's show. Carson begged him to one time and P sang "you are my sunshine once but never a beatle song.P always honered the beatle's riff against carson-this is my obversation. good for the beatles////

  • Paul had the ego going here. That's not the Paul I like to see.

  • I wasn't even close to being born here my mom was like 5

  • Great now I have to go listen to Here, There, and Everywhere. Gee thanks.......

  • 0:38 JAJAJAJAJA SHHH! <3

  • Tough interview.

  • both men are clever.

  • did he get a spry tan?!

  • @ladykatemacca There were no spray tans back then.

  • what movie was it?

  • What year was this interview?

  • @naglelator The movie "Give My Regards to Broad Street" came out in 1984 so it was probably "84.

  • @cak813 oh okay. Thank you for letting me know.

  • It's 2011, I'm 14 and I ADORE the Beatles! I love how the audience screams at everything.

  • @wecanworkitout2 Nobody cares how old you are...

  • @beatleman98 Just making a point in saying the Beatles are the best among every generation. But thanks for the tip.

  • I'm a cell within a sperm within a potential egg of a possible grand-son of myself and..yes..I'm a massive fan of The Beatles. They are the best band of both the 20th and 21st centuries.

  • Comment removed

  • @alkilp I'm thinking about becoming a cell within a sperm within a....well you get it. :-0

  • I'm not out of my mummy's tummy yet, but I'm a Beatles fan. I heard they're great. Always heard breast milk is nice. Can't wait.

  • @kady7869 Actually breast milk is not good but it does come in the cutest containers I ever did see!

  • he's hard to interview. A Sarcastic cunt.

  • @ryanlfc87 That's what makes it all the funner. :D

  • I'm 3 years old but I still love his music

  • @BobertBilliams stop saying that, people. age is IRRELATIVE

  • @BobertBilliams lol 3 years old ?! wtf??

  • Think I've solved the mystery. The song is called Wanderlust. In the movie (Give my Regards to Broadway) he plays Yesterday - then Here There & Everywhere - before finishing with Wanderlust. So this ending is a kind of reprise of Here, There & Everywhere. Should have known better than to doubt Paul's genius!

  • @ShaneC27 Aha, cool, thanks! It would have been kind of funny had he nicked it off himself!

  • I'm sorry, but I remember watching this when it happened and thinking Paul was being a douchebag. He seems pissed off for some reason and not all that cooperative. He's like the Mozart of the modern age but that doesn't stop a person from acting like a prick, I guess...

  • Date and time, por favor. Set the context, honey!!!!!

  • what year is this?

  • i wasnt alive when al that great music came out, but i'm alive too download, stream and buy all the music that ever has bin made by man kind. i geuss we are the lucky ones

  • OMG how old is he here ? O:

  • cialebrity impersonator, Faul

  • @faulconandsnowjob shut the fuck up, you're stupid. if you know ANYTHING about the beatles you would'nt believe it.

  • I'm a massive Paul/Beatles fan, but was the end of that song not suspiciously like "Here, There and Everywhere"?

  • @ShaneC27 Yes, I thought the same thing- sounds like Here, There, and Everywhere at 4:12 What song was he singing anyway?

  • @ShaneC27 Intentionally, since Here There and Everywhere is played in the movie, before the song we see him singing in the clip.

  • @spongevee1 That's what I said, if you look at my comment below

  • @ShaneC27 Well, that was the intention, so perhaps not too suspicious, really.

  • @ShaneC27 What year is this?

  • @sohooded 1984

  • @ShaneC27 "Spending each day of the year..."

  • I just discovered that my day starts exactaly like Paul McCartney's (I wake up)

  • @MrTheBeatlesforever Well,geez....then we're all on the same boat! lol :D

  • Most people didn't like Give My Regards to Broad Street but it was a pretty good film I thought. Music was awesome. :-)

  • two stone-cold icons. get charlie chaplin up there and we're set.

  • Only if Paul knew what girls say in their comments to Paul McCartney videos....hehe I would LOVE to see this reaction!

  • It was not Paul's fault. He wrote a drift script and he took it too some movie produces. Hopping there help him make it a good movie script. But when he showed his drift to the produces there said "It was great, that it didn't need changing in anyway". And Paul not knowing to much about the movie script witting business except what there said and made the movie.

The movie is the best Music movie made after A Hard Days Night and Magical Mystery Tour.

  • @BWEE1000 no Help! ?

  • @xxxWabbitxxx95 I am talking about the movie Give My Regards To Broad Street!!!.

  • I think Paul picked up on Johnny being patronizing towards him. Carson had a very few rock stars on his show, and when he did, he was very patronizing towards them. Carson was known for hating rock and roll (he was a big band/swing/jazz fan). So Paul was on guard.

  • John Cusack years.

  • What movie are they talking about????

  • @TheRealFellner

I don't know what movie they're talking about either. Please, when you find out let me know!!! Paul is so amazingly good looking!!! ♥♥

  • @Kaya1955 I'll try! hahahaha. and yes, I agree!!! soooo damn sexy xD

  • @Kaya1955 The movie was Give My Regards To Broad Street!!!

  • My parents arent really fans. I'm almost 15 and I'm IN LOVE with Paulie and the Beatles =) I found them on my own!!

  • @TheRealFellner good for you. the beatles music will never die. they say in a couple hundred years (if we survive that long) their music will evolve into nursery rhymes, and kids songs. they are timeless. glad you found them.

    peace, lardo.

  • I love Paul but he's pretty much acting like a dick through this interview and it's obvious he couldn't care less, on Carson no less.

  • Paul was being nice to Johnny. he" told" (help up a finger in the shhh gesture) to the crowd to be quiet when Johnny was asking something, comes up with funny answers, and comapred to Lennon(who wanst afraid to speak his mind) Paul was always the very polite proper Beatle.

  • Paul is eternally amazing!

  • Hahah

Johnny:"I don't want to be in the movies... I cant play a guitar... "

Paul. "No, but you can talk. That's a good start!"

  • What's an ordinary day? Well, Johnny, I like to wake and bake. Eat some breakfast get baked again. Handle routine tasks, write some music, smoke a few more fatties throughout the day.

  • @SouthCoastMass ii used to be like that till i discovered how mind numbingly lazy and selfish i was to myself and everyone else, something like that anyway, btw what an akward interview :-s

  • Nice to see Paul relaxed, and I think if Linda hadn't passed they would still be married today!!

  • for some reason at the end of the clip when Paul said, "John," I could almost feel Paul wishing that he was talking to a different John.

  • Comment removed

  • @bladesofglory12 both Johns are Libras

  • Does he remind anyone else of David Tennant (from Doctor Who) at 5:05, at little bit, or am I imagining it?

  • this is 1984 ?

  • here, there ,and everywhere 4:14 "running my hands through her hair"

  • lol good one, the children of the fans. Well maybe if my dad wasnt a big Beatles fan... hmmm dont know... lol good one...

  • johnny is the man, the best.

  • I wasn't even born when this interview was made

  • @hgates101 Johnny Carson offstage was a well known ass. Even so? RIP Johnny, we loved ya even so!

  • which movie was he and ringo in?

  • Give My Regards To Broad Street (1984)

  • @cathkinghost Mexico City May 27! Cheers!

  • ok he's plugging Broadstreet so it's mid 80's

  • I'm guessing this was from around '92 or prehaps slightly earlier

  • so easy to take the piss out of dumb questions.

  • McCartney seemed uncharacteristically subdued and uninterested in this interview. Wonder why?

  • @LeakyMustang Dont know but if there is a bigger name then Paul McCartney its Johnny Carson....

  • @hgates101 lolwut

  • @hgates101 Everybody knows the Beatles. I doubt the same could be said for Carson. That said though, he was a legend in his own right.

  • Don't remember too many interviews that Johnny gave that were more awkward. I don't think Paul was making it easy for him.Carson was the best ever and GEE Paul was a bit ....whimsical

  • Man, when he was talking about his "typical day", I so wanted him to say:

Woke up, fell out of bed

Dragged a comb across my head

That would have made my day

  • great interview johnny! what a lush!

  • Anyone know when this was?

  • "then come home" lol good old joke hahaha:) (but it wasn't so old then)

  • It's always the most famous people who are the most uninteresting. At least act like you're enjoying yourself Paul.

  • Paul isn't dead you dumbass.

  • Comment removed

  • He isnt dead

  • Johnny Carson was the man.

  • I wasnt alive when all that great music came out :( I wish i was it would have been AMAZING!♥

  • @paulmccartney7ElvisP me to im only 12 :'( :( :(

  • @paulmccartney7ElvisP Exactly! I want to have been born earlier!

  • PaulMcCartney = 7 ElvisP :P

  • he really keeps it real at allll times. no room for inaccuracy lol reminds me of my gemini brother.

  • Paul is dead theory is the most stupid thing i've ever heard

  • I think the elvis is alive theory isnt that clever eather :P

  • Well, now people is saying that MJ at This is it press conference was not the real MJ so, whatever is possible...

  • it's true, he works at my local fish shop!

  • @WiltatKansas Not so stupid.

  • @WiltatKansas i reckon he sounds the same live and his vouce is the same he looks the same all those people that think he's dead are fu**** retarded!

  • @WiltatKansas i know right...he looks the same as he did in 64, just a little older

  • Paul JOGS?@!? Awesome! no wonder he looks so beautiful and young..

  • MCCartney about 40 here; as he says "father of four" (his own three plus stepdaughter Heather).

  • Does Ringo always wear sunglasses because he doesn't like his eyes and what they look like? Correct me if I'm wrong in a nicee wayy

  • Ringo wears sunglasses because his eyes are sensitive now after a life full of countless spotlights and cameras snapping.

  • Who thought that Paul McCaertney died..?

If you meant that then I can say that he's still alive.

  • it must've been very weird for HIM to find out that there are lots of people who think he already died...it's like they announce your death in the newspaper and you read it...funny imagination

  • Sorry instead of who in the beginning its You.

  • you're thinking of John Lennon

  • lol

  • Paul is NOT DEAD.

  • He didn't

  • stfu..i know he didnt die

  • they were some shit questions by johnny carson

  • The movie is 'Give My Regards to Broad Street'.

It is not one of Paul's best films.

  • Johnny Carson was the best talk show host, ever. They threw away the mold when he retired.

  • I love the voice of this interviewer it sounds american, old hollywood :D

  • George Martin called Paul's vocal on "Wanderlust" one of Paul's greatest vocals ever, including with the Beatles.

  • Notice Paul was wearing leather shoes. He said in an interview in the 90's that he realized that he was being a hypocrite, calling himself a vegetarian and still wearing leather products. So now, you'll never see him wear anything except fabric shoes or clothes.

  • leafyutube, your the one thats bombed moron, mike demilo your the one thats high, get a life..

  • what movie are they talking about?

  • Paul is on good form in this interview

  • I never liked Johnny Carson but these two were like a comedy team!

  • Broadstreet wasn't the best movie, but the music, supreme!

  • great interview!! "they know him"(2:43), "you talk"(5:21)"come home"(1:48), I LOVE Paul!

  • What's the name of the song Paul is singing? Beautiful melody ... towards the end it kinda sounds like HERE, THERE, AND EVERYWHERE.

  • It's called Wonderlust :)

  • Wanderlust, I think. Found it on YouTube. I've always thought that Paul was the most melodious Beatle. Thank you very much, num1Beatlesfan.

  • Right Wanderlust typo lol np :)

  • It´s actually called "Wanderlust", he recorded "London town"-album on a boat named Wanderlust!

  • To eldato333 -

    No he isn't. Paul's a sweetheart.

  • I think he was being sarcastic. If not, he's never seen Paul McCartney

  • Paul was so handsome and gentle back then.

  • What do you mean "back then?"

  • Still is yes, but I was just looking at the past. I've 'known' and watched him nearly all my life.

  • Oh, I see.

  • All hail Sulu!

  • i know the beatles made some amazing music before they broke up and that they felt they'd already done it....but i find it hard to believe they didnt still love each other and with that love and that talent and that experience and camaraderie....that they couldnt have started right back up again and made some more beautiful music anytime they dared spent some time away from their budding family lives. it wasnt a likey possibility (which was why it never happened) but it was one. woulda been nice

  • what moving is he promoting?

  • john lennon's not even in this video..

  • Ffffft, shows how much you know about the real Lennon. I love John, but happy-go-lucky he was not.

  • lol why go home after the jog?!?!?

    u gotta love him! <3 :D

  • your brain must be as well!

  • He looks a bit nervous here - but funny all the same. People slam this movie he's plugging, but I always found it to be a rather nice, albeit far-fetched, fairytale. Rather enjoyable flick. And he gets Johnny here on a few occasions. Thanks for posting. Enjoyed it.

  • the titel is Paul on Johnny,i thought he talks about Lennon...

oh well, never mind,he's cute and funny

  • yeah me too

  • He is such a sexy, sexy man and so funny and adorable. Gotta' love this man. I am sooooo glad he left that bossy, selfish witch, Heather Mills!

  • What year was this brocast?

  • 1984

  • oh Paul, you're so witty. i love you =)

  • Ringo turned out to be a fair actor.

  • 2:40 - 2:55.. Paul's as funny/clever as ever.

  • anyone know what that song is??

  • That's "Wanderlust" from 1982 Tug Of War.

  • No this version is from give my regards to broadstreet 1984
