Im watching this presentation because i just got OS X and i want to see what the new features are. Don't say the Mac doesn't have new features. it has new features and technologes. 7 has more color, and snap. Not as good as expose. I predicted snap has pissed many people off, and according to stories I've heard, it has. Nobody ever has it turned on. So in retrospect, 7 doesn't have a new feature except for shortcuts and a search that looks like Mac's Spotlight, which they've had forever. Microsoft, just stop.

Actually, Windows has had a find capability since like Windows 95, with "Find" in Vista they moved it from the start menu as a click-able button, to a search box, so it's really just a change of location.

yea dock expose' sure mac thought of it. its not like windows vista already had the thumbnail preview of programs running multiple, and they developed it to what it is know in windows 7. I have to say the one in windows 7 is much better, and more user-friendly u just have to hover with the mouse on the program and it gives u a preview.

Dock Expose seems similar to how Windows 7 Thumbnails work, and their interactive features, and I think the feature was in the Windows 7 beta's long before Snow Leopard came out.
i use pc and mac and both systems got goods and bads. It depends what uve got on your Harddisk. And what plugins u use for your Browser in every system. Nothing more and nothing less fullstop.

Practically all of the things that Mac has "refined" in Snow Leopard is already in Windows XP, Vista and even Linux. And it will be in Windows 7. All the new processors that come on Macs are 64 bit so you will have the advantage, however, you will not be able to boot into 64 bit kernel because Apple disabled it for Macbooks, as well as some other Macs which are EFI 64 compatible.
However, for most people it won't make much difference anyway.

i don't really understand how 64bit works compared to 32bit, i've tried wikipedia but its all too confusing about the amount of instruction sets and stuff, i've realized that 32bit windows only uses 3.3bg of ram.
either way to my understanding, 64bit allows for your os/hardware to more efficiently handle data because 32 bit has limitations in the types and size of data units.
just think of it like we have reached the limits of 64bit and we are making the jump to hop onto the next part of the great exponential curve that is moores law.
just hope we get to 128bit quicker than the time it took us to move from 32-64 :D i could really do with googlebyte of ram haha

Every browsser can be that fast if you have high internet speed(wich i think they have) and also i have a mac and two pc's, and sfari 4 on the mac can't even view all web pages, but i'm not saying that IE 8 is better, but there's a lot of unknown browsers out there tthat might be much faster.

It's a 32-bit kernel that can run 64-bit apps. Unlike GNU/Linux and Windows where 32-bit is for compatibility; with [Snow] Leopard the 64-bit is for compatibility.
So most apps will run as 32-bit and the kernel uses mainly 32-bit drivers - BUT it can run 64-bit apps in the long mode for large memory access.
All in all, not true 64-bit.

Wrong, 64bit sofware for windows is far away, we will see it in many years. Also Windows 7 is now adopting the dock futures of mac.Also snow leopard using processors,processes better.
Anyway at least windows7 are very good many times better than vista.

Practically all of the things that Mac has "refined" in Snow Leopard is already in Windows XP, Vista and even Linux. And it will be in Windows 7. Oh and by the way, people who are smart enough to not switch to Leopard OS don't use Internet Explorer 8 as their browser. This fool's talking about multi-core. i7 isnt power in the same way xeons are anyway xeons are work horses and i7 are race horses. there's a reason that xeons cost 4 times as much :P
At the end of the day its personal choice, if you gave me two exact pcs with the choice of one OS i wanted on them, i would choose osx every time.
but then i spend most of my time working not playing

All the new processors that come on Macs are 64 bit so you will have the advantage, however, you will not be able to boot into 64 bit kernel because Apple disabled it for Macbooks, as well as some other Macs which are EFI 64 compatible.
However, for most people it won't make much difference anyway.

no no, im sorry, i didnt mean it like that lol. there are way to many rude people on youtube, but im not one of them, i meant it as a question kinda statement thing lol, thats as far as i know, although someone said there was a core2duo aluminum imac which was held back by its chipset which wasnt 64bit... all i know if my core duo mini isnt, but my core2duo imac is, the later p4's were based on Netburst architecture though, which is completely different to Core... wonder why they downgraded

i don't really understand how 64bit works compared to 32bit, i've tried wikipedia but its all too confusing about the amount of instruction sets and stuff, i've realized that 32bit windows only uses 3.3bg of ram.
will 64 bit really make things that much faster?

either way to my understanding, 64bit allows for your os/hardware to more efficiently handle data because 32 bit has limitations in the types and size of data units.
just think of it like we have reached the limits of 64bit and we are making the jump to hop onto the next part of the great exponential curve that is moores law.
just hope we get to 128bit quicker than the time it took us to move from 32-64 :D i could really do with googlebyte of ram haha
