You all work real well together!!--keep it up you have a lovely voice-right on the money! Thank you for posting this-as a musician for over 40 years i know talent when i hear it-great job!
Very nice video! You have a very beautiful voice :) This song makes me think of my family. My mom and dad moved from Harlan almost 30 years ago and this song always gives me chills and brings back lots of memories for my Mom!!
you all are very talented. my moms family is from viper, ky and the sun used to go down at 5 there, but they are cutting into the mountain to make a highway. looks awful now.
You sound great. There is a lot of talent on that stage right there. Great job with this song, it has always been among my favorites and yall rocked it.
Thank you for the tremendous compliment to all of us. Sometimes people tend to focus on the lead singer and maybe unintentionally leave out the musicians in their compliments. I couldn't do it without them though. It is a group effort, if one sounded bad, it would all be bad!
i am listening to this song again....no need to thank me girl. but thank you for answerin so quick you are a swwet girl, just as your voice is...i sing as well and that is one of my favorites to sing, do you do any judds? i bet you can really sing grandpa..
what a great voice! and the musi is fantastic i am from eastern ky. letcher co. a little town called blackey it is where they filmed part of coal miners daughter. you really made me homesick when i heard this song..thanks for posting you guys are great!
I just thought of this, a buddy of mine runs this site to hook up bands with clubs. It might help you in your area, or anywhere y'all might be interested in playing. I think there is a fee though. It is a pretty cool idea. Keep up the great work!!
Actually, they were quite rude and didn't seem to notice us at all! I guess that goes along with paying your dues...you play at restaurants for tips for people who cam looking for food, not music!
Great job, the guitar work was nice. As a bass player who started playing with my family when I was 14, I appreciate not always having the perfect venue - but you sounded great.
My favorite state without a doubt,,love your music, your people, and your scenery,,worked with a lot of ironworkers from Kentucky,,excellent,,keep up the great work
She does a better job than Brad Paisley. His version is on youtube.
I don't have much use for the CMT pretty boys, the best country music isn't being made by them today but big corporations own all the country music stations, tv country cable stations, award shows.
true...thank God my family was one of the lucky ones to get of there alive. That, and we were lucky to be one of the few families to not be coal miners.
I know from living in Eastern Kentucky how difficult it is to be a coal miner. Unfortunately, it is often one of the few ways to earn a good living in the area.
I wasn't aware that Brad Paisley had recorded it. The song was written by Darrell Scott and apparently, Brad and Patty recorded it the same year. I'll have to check out Brad's version!
We do a lot of christian music but none of it would really qualify as southern gospel. We had previously recorded some material when two of our members were with another group but nothing since we reformatted. We are hoping to record in the future but that takes funds and around here, people expect you to play for free!
You don't have to go to Nashville to be successful! Nashville is overrated anyway. I've known groups starting out small in churches for free-will offering and have become really successful! (Have you heard of the bluegrass gospel group The Easter Brothers?) They still perform at our church in Virginia every Easter Sunday Morning. We love them a lot.
Maybe you could advertise for private celebrations also.
Thanks for the encouragement! This format of our group is relatively new but we had planned to do just that, play in churches for an offering. We have plans to record a demo because people want something to listen to before they book you. That is one reason why we posted our videos. We're working on it! Spread the word for us, will ya? :-)
We have several Christian songs posted, Trusting in You, All the Reasons Why, I'll Go, and Come to Jesus. Visit our channel by clicking acousticfaith under this video. Thanks a bunch! We'll take all the help we can get!
Patty Loveless is my #2 favorite singer ever!!! This is my favorite song of hers... You did a very nice cover of her excellent song... Just two minor suggestions: I would have liked to hear you start it acapella, and work on the humming in the end a little.... other than that, you would be deserving to win Nashville Star based on your vocal talent. The band sounds great too.

I agree. The country music industry wants the singers to fit into their mold and it is MOSTLY about how they look.
