I think they do a blue background because the torches are not lit. The blue makes it look like it's nightime/dark in the area.

Necrotaurs on hard pull these bad hit and run tactics. When you try to corner them, their hits will push you all the way back.  Pretty tough on melee combat, but if you are caster, you can do the spell spam for easy wins.

Well, if you've gone through Quest For Glory III, it's no secret that Ad Avis is somewhat a part of why you are in Mordavia. The end of QFG III also reveals that he too is a vampire.
