  • There is a newer amusement park again at Santa Monica Pier or near it I believe, but not the same park. There also was a R&R show like bandstand based at POP with Wink Martendale

  • I remember the show. Was during the "surfer" period. When annete and franky were making movies.

  • Great song...Thanks for posting...This song should be in a casino commercial.

  • it was called american band stand toolio...sheesh....

  • This song was commissioned (including this recording of it) as the theme music of a TV series titled "Where The Action Is" (1965-67), which was produced by Dick Clark and featured pop and rock acts "performing" their hits in outdoor settings, usually (but not always) in the Los Angeles area.

Clark hosted the series, but only as an off-camera voice-over.

  • @altfactor I remember this show in Southern California at Pacific Ocean Park which has been long gone. Did "Where the Action Is" have Paul Revere and The Raiders as Hosts, or was this another show?

  • @rgarcia77 That was "Where The Action Is', segments of which were sometimes taped at Pacific Ocean Park in Santa Monica as well as other points usually (but not always) in the Los Angeles area.

Paul Revere and the Raiders were more or less regulars, but the show was hosted by Dick Clark (never appearing on-camera, only as an of-screen voice-over to introduce the acts)
