  • It looks like the pickups have been removed... am I right? just covers? I can't see the screws that would normally be there. what a great looking guitar!

  • Not For Sale

  • anyone else notice that the adjustable pole sides of both pickups are both headed toward the bridge ... that one more design aspect gibson should start using in their reissues

  • sick guitar, my les paul plays like a dream.

  • EASILY 20GRAND RIGHT?

  • @ChrisVGuitarist more like half a million

  • @ChrisVGuitarist 750000

  • @ouija93. But Fenders aren't a waste of natural resources? Or even cars, building, and so on....

  • @GuitarGod94XxXx No. In Fenders the wood is being used for a good sounding guitar.

  • This guitar will always be Peter Greens no matter what.. come on people the guy put his heart, soul, and his sanity into this guitar. In will always be apart of him like he will always be apart of it. To think other wise is well.. sad

  • gibsons are waste of money and natural resources... fuck them

  • I have a hard time seeing this guitar and not thinking of what a loss Gary's passing was.

And folks, this was Gary's guitar for way longer than it was Peters. Years ago Gary asked Peter if he wanted it back and Peter said no.

This was Gary's guitar first and foremost.

  • Damn you Schaller tuners ... We met YET again!

  • I know a guy that had about every rare guitar in his addict studio. He had a fire and lost all

  • My buddy had me to put new strings on his ORGINAL 59 Les Paul so me being and evil son of a bitch pulled out the router and did him a "FAVOR" hehe I took my Floyd rose template and cut a hole right through the mother F%$#er drilled some holes for the claw and the blade poles slappped my old chrome floyd rose tremolo on it as well as dremmeled down the nut for the locking system then new strings on it and said here ya go now it's a REAL guitar dont think his pops was too happy he bought it! >:)

  • My doctor forbids me to buy that

  • that thing is actually worth about 400,000 smackers. i'd sell it and buy a custom. hell, i'd sell it and buy 100 customs. haha

  • ha ha...kinda stupid

I love it how it says its insured so DONT handle it (I would be concerned if people handeld it and it wasn't insured.)

Second, ha ha, why do makers like Gibson and Fender today make "relic" and beaten looking instruments and yet when it comes to an original road worn and beaten instrument they DONT want you to handle it in case you

    1. scratch it : /

    2. put a knick in it...hmm arnt any of those. HA HA!

  • i want it

  • guys, its hammer of god

  • Man,, the REAL Green/Moore Les Paul. Stunning.

  • 7 figure??????

  • @munkdo3 7 numbers....

  • @NicksVids25 that means millions!!!

  • @munkdo3 lol yeah

  • @munkdo3 o yeah that is wierd, they're usually only like 750000

  • @NicksVids25 yeah only... :D

  • fap fap fap fap fap

  • i think i wud not b able to resist the urge to pick it up and run

  • I hope it's not a guitarist like who own this treasure :-)

  • Will you hold that bloody camera still so I can have a wank!?

  • Hit pause my man

  • @MisterFruitbowl

LOL someone Wanking over a guitar,.....................

O wait a minute, It's Peter Greens, im in.

  • Yes I think so

  • Is this the Peter green guitar?

  • @AOSoloist You don't need to use bad words to offend someone. It's very easy to use polite and curteous language to offend. This is just another point I'm making because I like a good debate. If anything I've said doesn't make sense, please let me know.

  • @AOSoloist You weren't wrong my friend, you just didn't see the whole picture before coming to a conclusion. Another thing is that you say that you don't see why your comment might hurt me. It didn't hurt me but the implication is that because you can't see (or understand) why it might it might hurt someone than it shouldn't hurt someone. Because you don't understand something or see the logic in it, it doesn't mean it's not possible.

  • @AOSoloist The '59 Les Paul has a unique sound for various reasons including design, wood used and specific electronics. This sound is different than a classical guitar and many people with different musical tastes consider the sound just as beautiful and enjoyable. So... the '59 Les Paul high price = scarcity, artistic beauty and great sound. I hope you can now see that I DID understand everything you said and I just pointed out why your argument was incomplete.

  • @AOSoloist Les Paul, who originally designed the guitar, is just as much a design artist as the guy who designed a particular classical guitar. The artist who now builds the classical guitar is the same as the factory that built all the Les Pauls. About 1600 '59 Les Pauls were made. Probably only a small percentage of those survived through the years. One of the elements that people value in the Les Paul is their beauty. Even though it's mass produced, it's still beautiful.

  • @AOSoloist Another element in their high price is that, since they are made by hand, the demand is high... in other words there aren't many of them around. So... classical guitar high price = scarcity, artistic beauty and great sound.

These are exactly the same elements that produce high prices in the '59 Les Paul. The ONLY difference is that they were mass produced and not made by hand.

  • Sorry man. Also, you didn't hurt me. I enjoy an argument and I see now that some of my wording was rude. As for the argument, people vary as to what they value. The price is only an indication of what they consider important. Classical guitar making IS an art and DOES take great skill. The great classical guitars are expensive because thay are a beautifull artistic expression AND they produce a the perfect sound.

  • @AOSoloist You "never understood" and you still don't... which is alright. Nothing wrong with not understanding something. But if you're aware enough to know that you don't understand, then don't tell others to take a chill pill because they don't know or understand about the romero family. Can you now see the hypocrisy in that close minded statement?

  • Saw this beauty at the show. Wanted to play it so bad, but then I remembered that Peter green and gary Moore had played it, and immediately knew I was unworthy.

  • I heard talks about a price of $3.000.000 which seems even more hilarious :o

  • u can have the most expensive guitar and still play like shit

  • @BayouBluesMan Same with cars. You may be able to afford a 2 million dollar 250+ MPH Bugatti, but that doesn't mean you can drive it.

  • Yeah. You will always be doing 20 MPH in it. So it's no point.

  • @ErosaScuderia Exactly.

  • @ErosaScuderia dude why on earth spent 1 million and buying something so useless and vain as a bugatti? it pollutes, it'll get u killed, it makes u look like a vain asshole egofreak, i'd get a suzuki jimny all the way

  • I remember seeing this guitar in books when i was a kid. Check out the reverse neck pickup.

  • Its Always Escaped My Mind How Gibson Can Charge This Much For A Guitar If You Think About It Logically Its Only A Tree , Strings And Some Pick-Ups . . . . .

  • @emmetwhitey Technically, yes. But don't you love that feeling when you pickup your guitar? It has a history and who knows how many people have played it before you. As stupid as this sounds, I feel like each guitar has a story hahaha

  • @emmetwhitey they dont charge this much for it...this is a collectors price gibson doesnt sell 1959 les pauls anymore -_-

  • amazing guitar

  • man i'd fook my mother to own that!!!

  • @dukeofpearl don't believe that fella'...he's a liar and a perv. he doesn't even have a guitar !!!!! i have sum regrets.

  • bought an orig '59 just like THIS ONE at a garage sale that had stickers alllll over the poor thing, back of neck sanded down to the wood bridge p/u switched out and it was floyded at the bridge!!! such a shame!

  • i would cover it with fiber glass or something. someone might drop a heavy scratchy object on it

  • I am just sooo frickin lucky that I got my granny:) She kept herself a 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard for so long mint condition:)......And it was a great christmas present lol thanks grandma! And thanks gramps for that 1964 Gibson Les Paul Custom!...Fucking love old people!!!!

  • @PulseFyre you lucky mother fucker you

  • @PulseFyre Either you are confused, don't know the year of your Gibson Les Paul Custom, or don't have that model of guitar at all. The Les Paul Custom was not made in 1964. It was made 1958-1960 and 1968-present.

  • @DoctorLawyerWhatever

The les paul custom was first made in 1954

  • if jesus picked up a guitar(which i am sure he has) it would be a 59 original

with just the sickest flame-top any one of us could ever wish to own.

and of course he would run it thru a HUGE MARSHALL STACK NEVER KNOWN TO MAN!

  • @randomtwit I know, they should give it to me! 400,000 + dollar guitar!

  • That's the Peter Green Burst

  • Its been around the block once or twice

  • @iplayveryloud LOL :)

  • ...".in fact, don't even look at it"....

  • It looks well played, it was probably a lot of fun to play. Btw, if you own this guitar, you automatically have a bigger d*ck than your friends, Just saying

  • this is bullshit... i dont give a fuck if this guitar belongs to jesus christ himself... its still a guitar!!! it deserves to be played!!!!! wtf man?!?!?!

  • go damnit..i srsly was born in the wrong era

  • Is this the guitar that Peter Green rewired and turned the humbucker around? Either way, what a beautiful tone Mr Green had on those early Fleetwood Mac blues albums. Now.... Dear Santa....

  • @paul92419 : Yes, this is Peter's 'magic' Les Paul. He didnt do the out of phase himself. AFAIK, someone was doing a repair for him and re-installed it backwards and it was not done on purpose. It was a wonderful mistake. Only Peter could get the tone from this guitar like no other.

  • @XAeolusX

    it's history and rarity.

  • Comment removed

  • @XAeolusX

you think electrics all sound different?

  • @XAeolusX your so wrong about that one

  • Comment removed

  • i wouldnt steal it as nice as it is, the 14th fret marking would stick out like a sore thumb

  • @PlayRockGuitarSongs who gives a crap! its a 59'!

  • @Planl3703 yeah supose, my friends 59' is mindblowing

  • @PlayRockGuitarSongs well lucky him, and for you too to be able to see it! aha i would just guess that basically every 59' is mindblowing at the least :P

  • Someone should play it.

  • id be affraid to touch it i dont feel like paying for a 400,000 dollar guitar

  • What the fucks all this talk about price? think about the memories that are in that guitar.. completely priceless..

  • this guitar is worth about $200,000- $300,000 .

it may be the quality of the video, but it seems like the condition isn´t this good and the burst isn´t that great, but it is still a beauty!

and its still alot of money.

  • @gus23a Character my friend, character...

  • @hendrix950

    yeah, right.

  • there are only like a 100 left of the 1000 made. Some sadly came in the wood combiner

  • @rangerinthehood - I thought there were about 1600 bursts made - in ALL - and 1000 are unaccounted for (destroyed or missing, undiscovered.) Only 600 arr presently accounted for, that's damn few.

Some people are going to be VERY happy to find an old Flametop in n attic somewhere!

I like this one because it sings beautifully, it's just a good one. Gibson made a few dogs like then, just as they do now. Even prettier-looking dogs worth 400k.

  • amo a esta viola por diossssss¡!¡¡...

  • I wonder how long it will take my 1990 cherry sunburst to fade like that.

  • @1Doz 50 years give or take a few :D

  • is this a guitar owned by Peter Green?

  • gary moore deserves to be shot after displaying that beautiful insturment lik that

that guitar should be in some guys man cave being played

any one know how much that thing is worth though

  • @distotedyouth i saw a video and it said a 1959 gibson les paul sunburst is worth like $400,000

  • @AngelOfChaos963 depends alot on the condition and the type of burst it has some are 250,000 some are 750,000

sooner or later one is gonna reach a million i think

  • Does anyone think the tuners are too shiny and new looking to be from 1959? 0:21

  • @gloconti true those are completly different from the rest of the hardware

  • Is it just me or does the TRC look wrong? Shouldn't it be higher up?

  • The reason we keep a '59 in a case is, 1,000 years from now, when music hits rock bottom and Christ is risen, walking earth once more, he'll have something to play.

  • @yellowvespa04 Excellent post. (BTW.. music already hit bottom.)

  • @yellowvespa04 Not even Jesus, God, Muhammad, Allah, Jahweh and the Holy Ghost could pry that from my hands if it were mine. And yes, I know that some of those are the same person, allegedly.

  • @yellowvespa04 Yeah Id keep one in the case for when Santa comes. Both have about the same amount of physical evidence supporting their existence and both are believed to be real by children and dim witted simpletons.

  • that guitar doesnt deserve to be on display

a 59 Les Paul burst deserves to be played

its not the mona lisa, its an instrument

  • @TokeHuge i agree, but that guitar has been played A LOT over the years. it's the reason i play a les paul.

anybody ever find out what happened to clapton's burst???

  • is there a such thing as a 1959 gibson les paul custom alpine white?

  • man they better have an armed guard standing right next to that thing with a full auto uzi or something.

  • @sillydillydokieo uzi! hell no boy aa12 baby full auto SHOTGUN

  • poor thing wants to be played not locked up in a case :(

  • nice guitar

  • Who owns Peter's magic Les Paul now?

  • @MorroccoM13 a collector named melvyn franks..

  • R.I.P Les Paul. . . the greatest guitar inventor of the times. . . the man who gave this amazing guitar along w/ the help of Gibson. passed on Aug 13, 2009 . .. bt. will never be forgotten. . . the man who gave us. . overdubbing, multitracking etc. LES PAUL: 1915 - 2009 . .. U WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN, " The Wizard " Les Paul.

  • this kind of guitar isn't meant for hanging up on a wall in a plexiglass case. it's a guitar, it's made for playing

  • should be given back to greeny

  • since les paul died gibson started to fall appart...

  • @idanbo1 They were falling apart like 20 years ago.

  • @idanbo1 Yes.

  • GRAB THAT AND RUN!!

  • it's not truly original. look at those tuner pegs =/

  • @sharkfinnish tone knobs and rhythym pickup!

  • @sharkfinnish Oh my god, you're right. Good eyes :D

  • why so oily?

  • only about 1000 of these are made? oh shit!!! there are 6.5 billion people!!! lucky 1000

  • This has been posted a couple of years ago. it is PETER GREEN'S '59 Les Paul which he sold to Gary Moore in 1970 for &50 (deferred payment). Moore sold it a few years ago for 2 MILLION!!!

  • @Antarblue

pretty damn good return for 50 bucks

  • @Antarblue I know, I hate Gary Moore almost as much as I hate John Mayer.

  • @ErnestNeedsAKidney Me too! But as least Moore has chops!

  • @ErnestNeedsAKidney ......This comment has cheered me immensely.Thank you.

  • @Antarblue sham on Gary Moore.

  • Someone as changed the tuners

  • Where is the Pick Guard?

    Still a Great Guitar

  • the lemon burst finishes are not as striking as the cherry sunburst no way takes alot away from its appearance i'd rather have a '58 or a '60 w/ a nice sunburst finish

in fact i thought there were only 2 choices during those years black or cherry sunburst i have never seen or heard of what people have been describing as a "Lemonburst finish " or is that just what happens when the cherry red is completely worn away?...

  • @MOSKII58 Just depends on how much light is was exposed to. Nitro finishes are nice, they let the guitar 'breathe' more but are not as durable as polyurethane finishes. That is where you get that wonderful patina, like on an old piece of furniture. Even the red finishes they used on SG's and 335 guitars faded really badly depending on light exposure.

  • Guitar Porn at its finest.

  • Such a beautiful instrument, its a shame those guitars now sit in a glass case, they deserve to be played.

  • looks allot like jimmy pages guitar :O cool :)

  • this is amazing

  • Not my fav '59...I found his tone too nasal for me...I know it was from his reversed pickup, but still...not my cuppa.

  • beauty

  • i just came

  • Too bad about those chesse ball machine heads on it.

  • Gibsons from that period are know for snapped headstocks. 60's SGs were the worst. All the gigs this guitar has seen, no doubt it has been in the shop more than once.

  • @jwandhistools i've heard that the first time it broke was in a car crash... :)

  • That's had a h/stock repair at some point , the " Les Paul model " decal is missing and there's a crack running across between the G and low E strings .. pity .

  • thats a sik guitar

  • I think that was Jesus....

  • lmao...i think your right!

  • It´s an original "unburst" in this case when the color faded, maybe this guitar was exposed much time in high light conditions.

THE HOLY GRAIL!!! The Guitar that fell from Heaven!

    Costa Rica, 2010.

  • Does the tone of reissues of the '59s range since they are hand made?

  • Yeah, but they still don't compare to actual aged wood from the originals.

  • thats what i wanted for Christmas. didnt get it though :(

  • ahhw, look at that nice bend in the headstock, look at that shink finish, look at that mint fretboard, every guitar has to be as nice as that one !

  • Oh yes and ofcource that perfect nut !

  • Peter Green/Gary Moore Les paul......One of only a few things in the world I cannot truely comprehened to which the extent I would go to own....fantastic!

  • It's a 1959 GIBSON Les Paul.

  • Grab it and RUN!!!

  • With the chrome tuning pegs, I thought that.

  • Nowadays they would NEVER display such a piece of history within arms reach of the masses, I can promise you that.......

  • Comment removed

  • @oxidindigo it's not a goldtop, it's a suburst, highly faded.

  • Man, if I was a billionaire I could afford to buy a less expensive guitar for a lot less money.

  • does it play itself.

  • $750,000.oo
