I feel so bad for anyone who had to live through the 80s and drive this. I'm surprised they're not blind today. What were car designers thinking back then? I appreciate the modern designs in my era now.
On another gripe, could there be a worse name for a car company than Oldsmobile???
@Nicktyelor3 im just messing with you because you were picking on the 80s like it was along time ago..... this was in fact one of the nicer cars of the 80s but many cars of the late 70s to the mid 90s were pretty ugly and slow.
1.5 million Oldsmobile Cutlasses of this body style (G-Body) were built between 1980 and 1988. It was the best selling car in the United States starting in 1976 until well into the 1980s. It is currently the 13th best selling car in the history of world auto sales. Almost 12 million Cutlasses were sold between 1961 and 1999.
Very good job, thumb up. The only thing it's missing is the 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme at the end in white lettering with the gold "Oldsmobile" in cursive. Other than that, you had me fooled. :)
This is a sad video to watch!!! When Oldsmobile used that song; and when they built your car; they were selling over 1 million cars a year!!1 Now, you haven't been able to buy a new Oldsmobile in over 5 years!!! Plus, pretty soon, you won't be able to buy a new Pontiac or Saturn either!!!!
I had one of these in white and it was brougham. It seemed to have a 87 Olds motor though. And i had it for a decade from 1996 to about 2006, The engine started clacking and there was rot. Id like to get another someday. and reunite with my original car, not necessarily white but id like it to be 1985
No, I bought it used in 1988 from a dealer. The funny thing was, the original owner was a parent of a friend from high school. I didn't find that out until after I bought it and got the title.
Wait, this seriously isn't a real commercial?? I really thought it was before I read the description, it's so similar to other Olds commercials of the time.
Why, thank you. Nope, this was my '85 Cutlass. I shot the video in 1990, and edited it in 2009. So I was able to use some digital editing techniques that weren't available back in the day. I tried to make it look 'original.'
My Dad has a '57 Chevy in his garage, and someday I hope to have a restored Cutlass Supreme Classic in mine.
Now that's the car i wanna drive i've been looking for a 1983-1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme that is in great condition with low millage let me know if u find any and this is the in 1982 when General Motors made a new style Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme that sold alot of these great cars General motors dont even make Oldsmobile anymore thats why there doing bad
I am 5 starring the SHIT out of this video & favoriting it as soon as I can make room for it in my favorites! It is SO GREAT to hear this song again! The last time I heard it was on a Olds demonstration tape that my neighbor had in her 1986 Custom Cruiser. Thank you ever so much for letting me relive a fond memory!!!!!!
this isn't just a commercial, it's an anthem of good taste

Considering it's been 18 years since you saw this last, I consider that a compliment!

Very nice! Do you still have that Cutlass ?
metop33 3 years ago
Unfortunately, no. Like many Cutlasses of that era, it was stolen.

What a shame! It looked like it was in mint condition.
