Actually, this video serves to show how much people do care. I made it to thank all the volunteers who have helped and are continuing to help us rebuild.
I remember I tried to help...that telethon thingy they had (I can't remember what it was called) was partially sponsered by Verizon, and since my mother works for Verizon, we got to pick answer some of the phones for the telethon...I remember someone in our department got a caller giving a $10,000 donation. It was...well, an inspirational experiance.
thankyou for all those who helped out after katrina in louisuana and mississippi because i was actually not far from the storm it is sad to watch that because that was a lot of kids homes and again thankyou to whoever helped us out
Because Denmark, along with Canada and Mexico helped us along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Mexican troops were here for a couple of weeks. The Danes were here as well but I cannot remember in what capacity. They may have been part the help sent from NATO.
i donated $253.78 to hurricane katrina causes, we went around a campground asking everyone if they wanted to donate money, almost every single one of the people we , Even if it just bought them a couple pieces of brand new wood, or some blankets to keep them warm, it did make a difference so every time you get the chance, help out , because the littlest things make a difference. Thanks! Lola :) Club Help
i know this sounds terrible and im not trying to dismiss what happened in mississippi but alabam got hit very very hard too and no one paid attention to them
It is heart-wrenching that we had so much destruction in Mississippi. That is why the volunteers have been so important. Not only have they helped us clean up the mess and rebuild homes, they've also helped us keep up our hope. We could can lean on them after Hurricane Katrina devestated the Mississippi Coast line.
For a day off, the Frnech Quarter is good. A lot of people from New Orleans come to the Mississippi Gulf Coast to relax at the beaches. The volunteers who are helping us in Mississippi seem to enjoy the beaches as much as we locals.
well good news and bad news. bad news is we're not coming anymore. but the good news is that the reason is because we already have 2000+ people coming from the organization.
the bridge over the bay of st.Louis is complete thank God i remember when i went to help a year ago passing it and stopping at it for picture when i was on a misson trip to passcagula glad the bridges are up or almost up and running ill be back to help Mississippi get well soon
Thank you. My wife and I worked on the Gulf Coast from September 12 until October 11 2005. Despite the circumstance Y'all made us feel very welcome. We'll be back.
Thanks to you and your wife! I wish I could thank each volunteer personally. Y'all have done more than just tear out sheetrock, nail hammers, etc. You volunteers have given us the hope to carry on.
I live in Slidell, I moved here slightly after Katrina. When Katrina hit I lived in San Diego- my house here wasnt even finished- but most others will never be finsihed- many of my friends lost everything, lived in tarilers- i share their pain
I love this... my youth group and I went and worked in Gulfport last summer. Even though it's been 2 years, Mississippi still needs a lot of help in rebuilding itself. It's strange because we passed a lot of the places you have in the movie. The bridges going across the water were awful. I remember that the most. My church went back a few weeks ago to work in Gulfport. God Bless.
i used to live in mississippi... i moved about a year or two before Katrina... thank god i did... but i still have a lot of family and friends up there, and they are okay... what i heard it is doing great, but yes this video is sad... although i love this song..
I hv to sing this song in the end of yr assembly at school next week!!! We all thought it was a boring song but watching this video gvs it a meaning !!!
Beautiful and truthful song! Lean on Me..... Thats the most meaningful thing to say from youor heart!!! We all do someone. God is here and so are our true family and friends!
The nurse in the hospital put this song on repeat 66 times. I was in intensive care, in SickKids. She wanted the message to come clear to me. I had no intention of getting better, and I just wanted to die. But I got so annoyed by this song, I was pushed to get better. I had to learn everything over again! But, this song is now my favourite, and I'm thankful to Nurse Naomi that I can hear it. Thanks SickKids!
i love this song it has memories from when i went down to boloxi and pasagula to rebiuld from Katrina there is still a lot 2 be done. some of the boloxi/gulf port scene i remember spread the awarness and keep going to help i know im tring to go back go speed everyone
Thank you so much for helping my neighbors in Biloxi and Pascagoula. Gulfport looks much better thatn it did even 3 months as does the rest of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Still a lot to be done. And thanks for getting Mississippi's story out!
If I was old enough to be able to pay for a flight down there, I'd be over there in the blink of an eye. Unfortunately all I can do now is urge others to help and donate money.
Thank you for creating such a vibrant video. I have been on the coast for six months and am still amazed (although less so) by all the desctruction still around me. Every day I am grateful for those people who have chosen to come to the Gulf Coast to help those who have chosen to stand strong, to rebuild here.
How insensitive for those who couldn't care less about the video! This shows what people lost and what people in New Orleans went through! The song makes me cry! Shame on you!!!
Pass Christian Victim here: holding on trying to get back to normal; normal, what is normal ? .. it's hard going: but keeping my head up: I just dont want people to forget us along the Ms Gulf Coast: Thanks:
It's so thoughtful of you to make a video for all these people! I really wish I could do somethinig to help besides raising money! I'm so glad that we're doing this song in chorus! Though I think my chorus teacher sounds sorta better singing this(He was showing us. He's NOT going to sing the song in our concert). Great vid.
Thank you for post what REALLY went on in MS, we have worked HARD together, black, white,& all colors inbetween I feel sorry for New Orleans with the mayor that city has, I am forever thankful for our local leaders as well as state leaders.
