@carsruleok - Very expensive indeed! I have given up these cheap cameras altogether as sales product. As I say, too many quality issues. Look up "Shenzen AEE technology" These guys seem to be serious about their work. They are the creators of the original AEE MD80. Cheers!
Thanks, will do...Have repaired the first original MUVI I bought which had a failed battery and nicked the battery out of a MUVI clone...I now get 70 mins recording...I find the clones use up too much memory space as opposed to the originals and some are over exposed...I do like the time option though.
@carsruleok - Well done. I managed myself to adapt a 1200 mAh (3,7 v) battery to an old MD80 I had. Fully charged, It lasts two and a half hours of continuous recording now. I guess 1200 mAh is the most the battery-charging circuits of the camera can handle. I don't recommend going over that! It muy burn them! Cheers!
@carsruleok - The battery is bigger indeed, very flat. I bought it at an electronics store (3,7 v / 1200 mAh). I'm not sure if it is made for a cell phone or a digital camera. Anyway, I welded a cable from its terminals to the camera's circuit board and it worked just fine. I discarded the metal case and wrapped the camera's circuit board, the cable and the battery with black pvc tape. It is extremely useful because it is so flat and it looks nothing like a camera. Quite hard to detect. Cheers!
I managed to change the battery from an original MUVI which had a knackered battery and nick the battery from a clone.Workd great and gives me 70 mins recording now.
I bought one of the plastic ones from amazon, works pretty good. chinese drivers didn't work and there was actually malware on the cd. Thanks to many people posting How-To's and videos on youtube, I figured out how to get the cam running. Guess you can't expect all that much for 30 bucks (8GB card included). Uploaded a few videos, anyone who is interested in the cam quality check them out.
@nameist95 i got 1 2day from amazon to and yes the disc didnt work and i think it was the disc which shut down my antivirus, took me an hour to get my antivirus back, disc in garbage and how do u activate the sound recorder
This camera is a piece of crap. I would not recommend anyone buying it. I got no support from the manufacturer of the CompUSA where i purchased it. Drives don't work, instruction disc does not load, camera only records sound, no website support. Do yourself a favor and save your money.
@jlb2 - It's a bit of a gamble. I managed to find a supplier who tested the cameras before shipping and all was well for a while. I sold dozens of these cameras (640 x 480, metal case), then I switched to the plastic ones (740 x 480 with time/date). In the end I had to give both products up because they began to come with too many quality issues. That's the pity with these cheap Chinese products. If they only made them well! I guess it's too much to ask from a semi-slave work force. .
@slick4401 - Roger that. It may be too much to ask for, thus I really want people to know not to purchase the product. Sorry for your experience as well.
I just bought the real 780*480 (or something like that) and its like hd and tbh its water resistant! £30 from my mate im well chuffed. I sold my go pro for it coz i need cash :)
@vent25kn -Thanks, but please read the description: I bought eight of these cameras, this model is more expensive (far more than $15; I guess you are refering to the plastic clone), they all came with problems and the seller would not replace them. This upload is to prevent people from buying from these assholes. Cheers!
I bought one of these from Hong Kong and its a POS... Didnt come with a memory card so I took the one outta my phone and used it (2GB) and the thing only records for 5 to 7 minutes then shuts down... Wall charger doesnt work and the company I purchased from pop buying dot com has no way of contacting them... It has messed up pixals and when viewing play back there is spots on the screen... If your gonna get one of these make sure to get it from a place that will WARRANTY it if its bad...
@1Masterofwar Yes. I don't buy this model anymore. Too many quality issues. May I suggest you try one of the newest mdels of the original AEE brand. They seem to be serious about quality control. Cheers!
@wasssuppp08 - I get about 40 minutes per GB in my MD80. I'm looking at one of my video files, one minute long, and it says 20 MB. You'll find lots of cheap "Kingston" and "Sandisk" memory cards at ebay and such, advertised at a fraction of the usual price. They come with what seems to be original packaging and all. Well, they are fakes. And the worst fakes have their internal memory tampered with and/or are factory refuse (the ones that did not make it past quality control.
@wasssuppp08 - You may have a cheap-fake 4GB SD card. It has probably much less capacity (1 GB or less) but has been tampered with to show a greater capacity that it actually has. Try with an original Kingston or Sandisk card. Good luck.
Dont buy chinese rubbish ! Surely there are western miniature cameras of better quality out there. I don't buy ANYTHING chinese except for the odd takeaway!
Nah! I disassembled the thing and the switch fell off. Just crappy manufacturing and worse quality control. Don't buy from these assholes, that's my point. Cheers!
Yeah I know how you feel about them but mine stuck again this morning and I took the card out then put it back in and its fine, they are really cheap and cheaply made so its no great loss, good luck
@slick4401 lmao, you "disassembled" the thing and the switch fell off? I'am pretty sure it's assembled so that will NOT fall off, in other words just about anthing you take aprt is going to have parts fall off, the cover is to hold those things in place,You do kno there is a reset hole/switch on the side of those cameras? try another card. reset the camera , charge it for a few hour and if that dont help try something else, like maybe format the card? Good luck, thats if you havent destroyed it.
@Hollrobb The switch was not welded to the board, that's all. In other samples I bought it was firmly held in place by plastic rivets and the contacts soldering. Besides, this is an original MD80 by AEE (640 x 480 resolution). The one you mention (with the reset hole) is the plastic clone (720 x 480). By the way, I still have the faulty camera. It works perfectly (I use the VOX feature to turn it on and off) - My point is that these people at Suodanni sell the faulty stuff as good. Assholes!!!
@slick4401 ,Well then thats another problem all together then. Yes if i bought a device and it was faulty and the company that sold it to me refused to make it right then i would be unhappy as you are. It's a good thing i seen your video because i was going to purchase 20 of these cameras from HK Suodanni Industrial Co.,Ltd, for my sons boy Scout troop but now after learning of their poor Customer service i will be sure and take my business eleswhere. Thank you again for the info,Rob
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I agree it is a bit of a roulette buying from China. But this company in particular purposefully sold me faulty equipment.. There are no "successful ones" with them. Did a lot of damage. Cheers!

What is this 1200mah battery? Would be very useful.I guess it doesn't fit inside the MUVI.
I got two of the clones working satisfactory, one of them gave me two hours filming.Weird.Also I set the time ok.

It's a $15 camera from E-bay. Don't expect good quality. If it breaks, just buy another one, or if you want really good quality, buy a $300 camera.

Terrible camera and HK's service is equally terrible.
1.Can't tell what mode its in and lights are impossible to interpret.
2.MMC will stick inside or sometimes refuse to stay in
3.Will freeze constantly like this (this camera is broken BTW)
4.Has an unchangeable time/date stamp
5.CCD camera comes loose inside housing
6.Won't work as a webcam as advertised
7. MMC must use FAT format
8. Sound trigger works but shuts off immediately making it a useless feature
Save money, forget about this one!
