The Quran doesn't say the sun sets in mud, it just says that it "runs to a resting place", sets in a "murkey spring", and, according to Sahih Bukhari (NOT the Quran), but, Bukhari, it "prostrates under the throne of Allah before asking permission to RISE again." As far as the vessels the sun and moon travel in, see Qur'an 36:40-43.

Me being a muslim is not based on scientific facts in the quran. It is something much more than that. Islam is one of the few religions that has been open to critism, infact it is the only religion that encouraged science and other developments which only made it propgress. Whereas the west has to rid itself of religion before it progressed. But it think there are definately things in the quran like the earth being round and traveling in orbit etc that are irefutible.

There is no specific scientific information presented in the Qur'an that demonstrates its author had access to information not previously known in the ancient world.
All evidence that anyone has ever cited is either examples of information previously known by other thinkers (e.g. the Earth is round) or it's far too vague to be considered an accurate description of anything (e.g. the supposed account of the big bang).

There is not a single statement in the Qur'an that can be proven false. Absolute truth and knowledge of the seen and unseen is only with God.

I can make 1000 educated guesses about a certain matters and a few are bound to be correct or close to the truth through simple reasoning.

The Quran doesn't say the sun sets in mud, it just says that it "runs to a resting place", sets in a "murkey spring", and, according to Sahih Bukhari (NOT the Quran), but, Bukhari, it "prostrates under the throne of Allah before asking permission to RISE again." As far as the vessels the sun and moon travel in, see Qur'an 36:40-43.

One of the miracles of the Quran is that it is forever-applicable to any age of time in human existance. As such, we live in a time of science and reason. It is no surprise that we find a correlation between scientific verses in the Quran NOW.
See, in Islam (translated willing submission to God) we have faith, and EVIDENCE to believe IN that faith.

Any other religious book (ie bible, torah, religious books of hindus, .... fill in the blanks), is filled with useless signs. Books of fiction taken to be true, by the ignorant. For example the book "The Secret".
Religion is based on faith.
Science is based on theories and facts. Make your choice you only live once.
For me I take nothing on faith, and have discarded religion a long time ago.

Me being a muslim is not based on scientific facts in the quran. It is something much more than that. Islam is one of the few religions that has been open to critism, infact it is the only religion that encouraged science and other developments which only made it propgress. Whereas the west has to rid itself of religion before it progressed. But it think there are definately things in the quran like the earth being round and traveling in orbit etc that are irefutible.

There is no specific scientific information presented in the Qur'an that demonstrates its author had access to information not previously known in the ancient world.
All evidence that anyone has ever cited is either examples of information previously known by other thinkers (e.g. the Earth is round) or it's far too vague to be considered an accurate description of anything (e.g. the supposed account of the big bang).

There is not a single statement in the Qur'an that can be proven false. Absolute truth and knowledge of the seen and unseen is only with God.
One wrong statement by someone who has some correct statements makes him lose his credibility and opens the possibility for chance and mere guesses. This is the case with Epicurus.
I can make 1000 educated guesses about a certain matters and a few are bound to be correct or close to the truth through simple reasoning.

Whether any statement in the Qur'an can be proven false is a boring thought. Also, you do not know whether there was a creator never mind whether such a creator would also want to be a god. So your claims about any god or gods are meaningless.
One false statement does not make anyone lose credibilty except as an expert on the subject relevent to that statement. If Einstein mistakenly thought JoBurg and not Pretoria was the capital of S. Africa his physics would not suddenly be discredited.

Further to my reply below, Epicurus did not just make short statements that could later be interpreted any old how. His predictions were long and detailed full of substantiated explanation and then even to what the explanations meant if they were true. The Qur'an makes not a single statement of similar substantiation. Instead what the Qur'an states is ambiguous and much is left open to interpretation. Epicurus left nothing to interpretation.

Epicurus, on the other hand, went on and on and on to explain in many different ways precisely what he meant by his statements. Epicurus had intellectual honesty. The people in this video do not. The people in this video commit ad-hocery. They first choose a fanciful conclusion and then seek any and only evidence that supports it.

The most wide spread language of worship is English. You cannot include countries that force religions onto their children. Those children have just been mentally abused and were not given the full story meaning they did not arrive at the religion through thoughtful consideration. No man, book or item has yet even proved there was a creator so no man can yet assume that if there was a creator it would also want to be a god. All religions are evil - evidence that there are no gods.

ukapplejazz, there is not a single shred of evidence that there is or was a creator. If there was a creator I'm sure it would not also want to be a god. That means I am sure it would not want to be worshiped or provide guidance. For any adult to teach a child that there is any god who also provides rules for our living is child abuse. Pretending there is a father Christmas and then later telling the child it was just good fun is not child abuse. Telling children there is or are gods is ABUSE!
