I UNDERSTAND EBB AND FLOW AND THE FLOOD AND DRAIN METHOD... MY QUESTION IS HOW DID U SET UP THE POTS TO BE ABLE TO SOAK UP WATER I HAVE THE SAME SET UP BUT NO POTS... DID U CUT HOLES INTO THE POTS AND IF SO WHERE.
can you send me a link to where i can see how to make one of these step by step for my grow box im making? please thanks in advance... ima be growing my second time first time i just grew in soil and light with watering only
U gotta let all of that water drain or else u get alge. And I'd switch to black tubing also prevents alge. Also thows look like 6 inch vents , get ur self a fan and vent that sucker. You will see a difference
@adamjonesboston I would love one! You can upgrade my current 720p HD video camera to a 1080p one. PM me for an address you can use for mailing it to me next Christmas.
"The amounts suggested in the nutrient calculator are the total nutrient to feed the plant for a whole week, not the amount to give them per feeding - If you want to feed nutrient to your plants more than once per week, divide the amount (total ppm) for that week by the number of feedings that you want to give - Example: If the plants need 1200 ppm for the week, and you want to feed 6 times, divide 1200 by 6 and mix the reservoir at 200 – 250 ppm." True or not? Please reply, thanks.
Good setup. I think the only factor missing here is the ventilation. Ventilation is really important to help keep a "natural" thriving environment for plants so I believe that every indoor setup should always contain proper ventilation equipment.
@mmfeehan A fan was installed a week later and I used a drip loop to protect the electronics. This wasn't a commercial grow operation, it was a couple tomatoes in my closet. Don't hate brah.
if u really want to learn how to grow !go to small plants big buds here on u tube limbo limbo is a dutch grower. u need to know nothing more than what he does !!!!he is a amazing grower .u can make your own mapito i did and i will never use another medium !! mapito is the best !!!!!chunks of rockwool and chunks of poly foam thats mapito use it u wont be sorry
what kind of water pump are you using? i am making a system very similar to yours and i have no clue how powerful of a pump to buy. also, how often do you flood and drain the sytem a day? and how long do you leave the tray flooded? your input would be greatly appreciated
what kind of water pump are you using? i am in the process of buying my materials and i just dont want a pump thats going to shoot up like a fountain. my set up is going to be about the same size as yours..
2 things I think would help; you are losing roughly 2 inches on each pot by not filling those pots to the top with hydroton for the roots to have more room to vertically grow. Cover each pot with reflective paper to prevent fungi. Other than it looks like it could be a promising venture. Im really interested what the height of each plant will be and total harvest.
i have a question (it may sound stupid). all i've seen are larger grow rooms with separate areas and hydro systems for the vegetative and flowering state. when working with a small space and only one system, how do you compensate for those?
@vermillionplease Its actually really simple. If you planted all your plants at the same time, you can put the entire tray through the vegetative and then the flowering stage. There's no need for separate areas when all your plants are the same age. I assume those large grow rooms are for multiple harvests.
My plants got huge since this video, I'll make a video once I find my camera charger. Subscribe if you want to see it.

Nice work! But do u keep those plants in those same size pots during flowering too?
Kouveious 10 months ago
@Kouveious Yeah I did, the roots really got long and grew under the pots also.

It's not the camera's fault. Many cameras act that way near HID lights.

What are the "plant balls" around the center of your plants called?
FlixSkate 11 months ago
@FlixSkate They are expanded clay; mine are Hydroton brand. Hope that helps!

@fkelly84 They're not. The whole thing is on two wood planks, all leaking water dripped onto the floor beneath.

nice set up . perfect for mapito, get rid of the hydroton! and fill those buckets with mapito and watch those plants explode

get a 400 watt MH conversion bulb to use for vegging. HPS is used to flower and is the wrong spectrum for vegetative growth .
