george jones is the best and he will be the best till the end of time!!!!!!!! there will never be anyone like him ever again!!!! hes an one of a kind!!!!!
I love country music, and nobody sings it better than Jones..... he's 80 years old now and can't sing anymore, but what a great legacy he leaves us to listen to
The king of tears; more and more younger people are being turned on to roots music be it country, blues, soul or gospel.....I would imagine it's because they're bored of over-produced souless dross.
I am so thankful to have been RAISED on this music. George Jones can rip your heart out with his 'smooth as tennessee whiskey voice'. Its a RARE occasion when I turn the radio on.......simply because the so called Country Music station is so far from country that it makes me ill some days. I played all the oldies to my children and now I am playing it for my grandbabies.George Jones WILL live forever in my house!!

Thank God we had/have record players !! I remember this song from when I was a kid.
This IS country music,George Jones can tear your heart out with the emotion he sings with and his 'smooth as Tennessee Whiskey voice.' Megatron, I hardly EVER turn the radio on anymore because the STUFF that is out there IS NOT COUNTRY.I would much rather pull the old turntable out and throw on some old 45's and listen to what genuine country music is. And George Jones is it !!
deline ,nwt is a george jones fan so how maney yawas so go so it's ben a go ride with g ime self as the best one in country mucsic wish you go to deline nwt for i'm sure we would ,even me i'll take you fishing for the laker monster truot of bear lake and all ways get the baggest trout
If you have the money you should get George Jones Bearfamily boxset: A good year for the roses. Its a 4 cd vol2 of the complete musicor recordings. All the songs from this album is there.Vol 1 Walk trough this world with me is also very great. Were would we be without good Ol Mr George Jones.I think his voice was best on the musicor years.I listen to it night and day. He`s everybodys best friend
Charlie Louvin did the original, and George Jones does this song very well, but if you get a hold of Conway Twitty's "Hello, Darlin' " album, his version has all the others beat.
i really wish songs like this still play... i mean the shit they call country now is more pop then any thing ppl need 2 know what makes a song.....this is really good like all the songs i ever hear from George... King George Jones!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this song. My parents always used to p lay it in the car when we were going places when I was growing up in the 70's/80's. Along with so many other country and western songs, so many happy memories!!! Despite the actual words of the song. ha.ha.
Thanks for your comment. I love how country songs often combine sad lyrics with an upbeat tune, although in this one the tune fits the sentiments very well.
love the performance! i have known of this album and can't really understand why it wasn't as well known. looking at the album cover and the song titles, i see a few that have been featured on other compilation albums but none that were official hit songs so it's puzzling why no real attention was put on this album. i do question why they placed a woman on the front cover and not George himself...or at least had him on the cover somewhere.
