we were there as well. row k i think. I come from the same part of London as Chas but now live in Norfolk so took the oppurtunity to go and see them. Really enjoyed it.
Saw them in Worcester a couple of weeks ago on their farewell tour. So sad we won't see them again, they would be the antidote to depression and bring about World Peace if we all went to a concert lol! Seriously though I grinned from ear to ear through the whole evening and it's my Husband that is the fan, not me. Love this song, Hubby plays it as his final record, when he leaves a Radio Station, I suspect it will get one more play when he finally retires.
Does anyone know where I can get this song on CD? Every version i've bought has been recorded live and it just doesn't sound the same!! Any advice would be really appreciated!!
It's on the 'From Tottenham to Tennessee' double CD, available very cheaply via Amazon (see also my blog - linked from my profile - for a guide on Chas & Dave CDs!).
Shit-hot song! In this particular Chas and Dave song, the lads rhyme "traahsees" with "rahn' the 'ahses"- now, correct me if I'm wrong, guys, but "round the houses" IS actually Cockney rhymin' slang for "trousers", innit? :/
does any1 have a link to the version heinz beans used in the 80's ad????
and the lyrics can be found using google... jus include lyrics in the search :)

If you've had trouble finding this song on c.d., try looking for 'THE DIDDLUM SONG'. That's it's correct title...
