Amazing, we don't have ANY political satire on TV here in the USA. The last show was The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour -- which was cancelled in 1968. There is some parody on SNL, and the very santized and tame Mark Russell and Capitol Steps (yawn) on PBS -- but no THH22M. Nothing really like this where they go after the politicians.

It isn't the "S" word I was referring to. No, there is very little, if any, political satire that was as biting as the Smothers Brothers,  and nothing like 22 minutes. The TV networks will not satirize political situations. They WILL do mild parody. That's about it.

Due to a handful of complaints sent to the recently formed Canadian Broadcast Standards Council, YTV was pressured to remove the series from their line-up due to its violent content. Despite not actually being a member of the CBSC board, YTV complied and pulled the series before the end of its first season. While a phone-in poll was conducted to see if viewers wanted Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers back on YTV, no further installments of the Power Rangers series ever aired on the network.
