I Don't see why many put down the "Police style tonfa" I Think (In my humble opinion) If you held the side handle tight enough It would be as strong as a straight stick strike, through personal training with tonfa and straight stick prototypes.

Sincere be, sincere take.. so:

First of all; poor move performance (I saw both videos. U know how to do things, but U don't do them accurate. More practise needed)

Second of all; What does that cell phone scene mean?

Don't be angry, but if U do the exercise video to show it to the world.. make it good. Look for english words, cut the fails or mark them and say what went wrong.

p.s

Tonfa is fake, i mean it's light, not used in everyday police(or other) service. But it's only an observation ;)

lets call it a fast eight-shape which is pretty sweet nice eye-catcher and hella intimidating but if your not using a bladed weapon it can be interrupted by the use of a well timed front-kick to the hand.

same can happen with swords, machettes etc.

good point. there is always some way to get out of some situation. this type of tonfa move are used to separate ppl to make them step back. this is more offensive then defensive technique. in defense You would use strikes.

the lower block is messed up, no offense, but if you did it like that your opponent would easily take you out in the shoulders, arms, torso, shoulders, throat or head. basically it would lead to disaster if your fighting a normal opponent.

Good video. Tonfa is a great weapon. We and Americans have it equiped buy the police forces officially. The pity is that the most of our militionairs(policemen) use it only like the usual club.

Jeszcze nie byłam, bo czasu brak. Cały tydzień miałam treningi z samoobrony. Przyspieszony kurs- takie pierdoły różne (między innymi zakładanie kajdanek, przeszukiwanie, obrona przed atakiem z nożem lub bez... trochę tonfy właśnie :D dźwignie itp.)

Jutro mam z tego zaliczenie i pewnie jeszcze za chwilę popatrzę na to, co tutaj zamieściłeś- przypomnę sobie wszystko ładnie na jutro ;p

Chwyt pokazany działa tak u Kobiet jak i nas. :) ten kciuk i wskazujący to tylko pokazanie luzu miedzy dłonią a uchwytem. nie trzymamy tonfy mocno tak że sie nie odrywa ale i nie fajtuszymy nią jak sama zauważyłas.

Złap za koniec długą miotłe i rób nią małe kółka używając tylko nadgarstka i rób ósemki. wzmocnisz nadgarstek i ruchy tonfą sie umocnią. Jeśli źle wytłumaczyłem daj znac opisze inaczej :D

Powiem szczerze, że jestem pod wrażeniem- szczególnie szybkości i zwinności. Powiedz mi (jeśli możesz) jak robi się ósemki? Chodzi mi o pracę nadgarstka, bo wiele razy próbowałam i nic. Muszę się tego nauczyć, dlatego pytam. Jeśli wychodziło mi w miarę dobrze, to z kolei czułam, że zbyt lekko chwytam tonfę i gdybym miała blokować pacjenta, ten łatwo wybiłby mi ją z ręki.

hmm to tak samo można rzucić batonem czy bronią w kaburze :D tonfa nie ma takiego zastosowania w urzyciu czy przepisać. oczywiście jeśli nie mamy wyjścia jesteśmy w dystansie i ktoś wyciąga broń palną a my mamy tonfe i nie rezygnujemy z próby zatrzymania klienta to można nią rzucić, czy nawet goniąc kogoś (nie wolno uderzać tonfą w plecy czy głowe więc celuj uważnie).

ktoś mógłby ją przed nami podnieść i urzyć przeciwko nam, możesz ją stracić/zgubić itp a tonfa może Ci sie przydać później np aby wybić szybę, wcisnąć ją pomiędzy drzwi a futrynę aby klient nie mógł ich zamknąć możesz ją w płot włożyć tworząc rodzaj schodów dla kolegi aby mógł wyżej wejsc itp

i meant if you carry a weapon with you, you know youll get in a situation in which one youll have to use it. that kinda sucks, cuz you shouldnt get in such situations as a person who has a brain. it doesnt seem like youre a bully who has to arm himself for some streetfights.

however, my mums from poland so i can speak it! i moved here like 3 years ago, before i lived in germany, cuz my dad is german(so i also speak german!). now im studyin here in the capital and do some krav maga.btw cool vids

it's a different (the traditional) way to fight with two tonfas. there are some techniques you cannot practise with two tonfas, cause you need the other hand.

Me too, it is to hard to learn AND do in reality techniques, locks or even strikes, many many hours of practise! but it depends what type of work You do and where then You know if You can use tonfa, baton or just karate /empty hands/ :)

personally I find tonfa quite intuitive when it comes to blocking at least. it uses the same basic motions and principles as performing hard blocks with the forearm and/or wrist.

of course typically that's all I really use one for- and of course punch strikes and mimicry of elbow strikes etc.  Then again my lack of skill makes me a bit of a minimalist.
