the portal gun i have just is a black square with the animation of the portal. you can go through it, but you cannot see through to the other portal, due to some incredible difficulty of camera. your portals look much better, but do have a bad effect on actually using them.

But my portal gun in Gmod worked pretty well though back in the day =S + it was like the real original portal gun straight from portal... no lies, i had Gmod 9 with portal and then.. the portal gun just showed up in my weapon list. I'ma test it when Gmod is released on Mac (I only use mac these days + YES, gmod is comming to mac, if right)

In Garry's mod? Yeah you can see your own player model. If you rig up a camera and switch your view to that camera you can see yourself. I don't code or anything but I would assume it's easy enough to show the player model.

I must say though the guys made quite a good job considering the limits they were faced with. What I don't understand is how they could promote it so much when it was just a big pile of crap. They should have promoted it as a good attempt instead of a fully working portal gun.
