I just wish society valued and celebrated those who are smart and productive and actually DO something instead of just celebrating personalities and celebrities who really do nothing for our lives or our futures. It will be the downfall of our society
Wow, thank you so much for your comments! I am a 26 year old who just started college, and I'm hoping to be able to earn an engineering degree. As a kid I used to draw up all kinds of crazy inventions and dreamed of being a designer, scientist, or engineer. Sadly, it isn't "cool" to be smart or geeky/brainy, so I spent my time trying to make friends instead of developing my talents. I hope there are more people to teach our kids that engineering is our future. It doesn't get any cooler!
@racinjetford Take some advice from someone with an engineering degree who graduated from a major University. You better get an internship before you graduate. Without experience your degree may not even get you an engineering job. I know many unemployed engineers and those who never even got an engineering job with their degree. Start reading the job descriptions for entry level engineering jobs NOW to find out what you really need to learn before you graduate.
Engineering in Singapore is not appreciate let alone celebrate
