just think that try to find a meaning is pointless. We cant really get if it means to be sad or good, it hits people in diferent ways...its music. And as life, the music can be sad and beutiful, good and desperate.
I think the music is depressing. Furthermore it was built from the inverted chords of the Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata wich is a really sad music. Nevertheless this version enchances the sadness because only the voices are played, no instruments. Even the end is kinda misterious, maybe apocaplyptical.
The only "happy" side of the version is when we have a change of the melody wich begins with "Love is all love is you".
The pairing of this video with this song is supposed to remind the viewer to beware of naive exoticism. While it is true that the world is full of wonderful diversities many people in western culture tend to ignore the problems going on in these places if they are not exploiting the cultures.
I don't like the video with the song. The song makes me happy, the video is depressing. Everytime I hear this song I think "life is good" ...because the world is round it turns me on...because the world is round...because the wing is high..it blows my mind...the lyrics explain why life is so good. That's the way I picture it. "Love it old love is new"
can't wait to sing thisagain with my group back home...we did sunking followed by
mean mustard..etc and ending with "and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you gave"..feel young again..that was 1972..modesty aside,we won the band competition mainly due to the sunking number...it takes a lot of practice due to voice blending and the lenght of the song(composed of sunking, mean mustard, polythene pam and she came inthrough the bathroom window)it will be a challenge to do it again.
This song is on Abbey Road, not Revolver. Look on the backs of both albums and is says on Abbey Road that it's track 8, but it doesn't say anything about it on Revolver.
NOT crazy. Seems that way if one projects one own craziness, etc. It´s artistic license, contrast, counter-point adding power to the song & to the artist/writer(s) involved. It´s exactly like in the "Apocalyse Now" movie with the song "What a Beautiful Life (it could be)" while all "hell" is breaking loose, killing & bombing Vietnanese civilians. Shockingly effective! B in the world not of it;don´t identify with one´s body; get honest/authent own your experience. Jimmy Hendricks:R U experienced?
I'd like to know a little more about the culture that is described through these scenes. Where is that happening? I see the red cross flag on the truck. Is that a funerary ritual?
Ok Beatles fans. Part of this song was also used by an unsigned rap artist "NiQ" in the 50 Cent/YouTube On The Rise Rap contest. The track is called "Blow My Mind", something similar to this song is heard during the chorus. Check it out on my channel(Click on my name in blue above), let me know what you think with a Rating and Comment. Thanks.
The birds ARE in the "Love" version. (I have an excellent system where you can hear it). It comes from that soundtrack. At the end of this you can hear where it's going to lead up to THE CHORD from "Hard Day's Night...that's how it was recorded for the soundtrack.
Anthology 3. It's A Capella. The instrumentation was removed, leaving the nine vocals: three live, and another six overdubbed. In this video, the vocals are a little delayed in some spots for a dramatic effect.

This is the opening to Black Hawk Down set to the music. It's a nice juxtaposition you did, but it was directed by Ridley Scott.

Don't you get the irony in the song?
Because the wind is high, because the sky is blue, because the world is round: does that make the world good?
Can we be contemplative because the sky is blue?
Can we be careless because the wind is high?
This is the meaning of this song.
That what

No this is the Love version.
They spaced it out for the first track.
Unless this was done by the artist.
The spacing sounds shorter then the Love version so im probably wrong on that.
koolgiy 4 years ago
Never mind. This is definately the Love version. I listened to it and it is also spaced out.
elvis11992 4 years ago
Wait I think you were right the first time.
I dont hear the birds that are in the Love version. That and the spacing is shorter.
koolgiy 4 years ago
True. There were sound effects in the Love version that are not in this.
